Four out of Five Stars

Insanely skilled...Fisher is a sticking talent with the allure of Keane and the boldness of Ben Folds. Fans of keyboard pop from Joe Jackson to Five for Fighting will not be disappointed.

Product Description

Rod Underhill, founder of mp3.com writes:

"Scott Fisher crafts the perfect pop song. His tune, "Nothing," is a flawless example of modern day songwriting. Scott blends his uncanny voice, skillful piano, and artful lyrics into what, if the world was a just and appropriate world,is a Grammy award winning single."

This glowing review joins positive reception for songs from Scott Fisher's 2005 self-titled album. Distinguished by a remarkable voice and deft keyboard mastery, Fisher's "smart pop" fusion of old school `70s funk/soul/groove and modern pop is showcased on this album.

"Scott Fisher" was produced by Fisher and mixed by Steve Sundholm, a rising LA producer. Recorded in stages at Sound Impressions and two hot Portland studios - 8 Ball (Rob Stroup) and Cool Blue (John Reynolds) - the album is a strong declaration of Fisher's musical maturity.

The disc kicks off with a funky 70's prelude and continues with radio-ready tracks like "Nothing" and "Chemicals" paired with more socially conscious tracks such as "Struggle" and "For Today."

"Tragedy Untold" reached #2 at WBCG in Punta Gorda, FL - landing the act at #134 on the Triple A Radio charts, as over 20 stations nationwide added album tracks. WBCG Program/Music Director G. Michael Keating wrote: "Fisher possesses a keen lyrical relevancy and a lively, up-beat rhythmic energy that smashes the airwaves with an undeniable resonance. His fine debut stands out in stark contrast from the pack...a future core artist who is `true to the music.'"

National media included Keyboard Magazine, Allmusic.com, Music Connection, Genre Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, LA Times and dozens more

A pre-release demo earned Top Demo of the Year honors from Music Connection magazine - LA's A&R arbiter. Prior incarnations of songs from this album have earned Top 10 status on Garageband.com, been featured in a national TV commercial (along with Pete Yorn and Badly Drawn Boy), and used in a video on the Abercrombie & Fitch web site.

5.0 out of 5 stars Portland, Oregon Represented Well, August 31, 2005
This review is from: Scott Fisher (Audio CD)
Since receiving my copy of Scott Fisher's self-titled debut album a few weeks ago, not a day has gone by when I didn't listen to the magical melodies and lively lyrics that is his first record, which was produced in Portland, Oregon. Fisher's album is saturated with hooks and messages that have resonated with me personally, and it's tough for me to choose a favorite track because that preference keeps changing everyday when I listen to this album. At first, the track "Feel" caught my attention the most, but then the track "Struggle" became my favorite of the moment. "Crisis" and "Fleeing Towards Creation" are some other favorites. The entire album is worth every penny you'd spend on it.

Relocating back to Minnesota from Oregon, I've been out of the loop as far as independent music being created in the state I was raised in, but it's good to know there are artists like Scott Fisher out there producing a quality product that will make you tap your feet all day long and sing along to in the car. For another Oregon artist, check out Justin Hopkin's "Building EP", which was also produced in Oregon. If you can't find it here, you can order it at www.cdbaby.com.

Keep on rockin' boys!
