From School Library Journal
Gr 8 Up-A slim, highly readable biography about one of America's most studied authors. Beginning with Fitzgerald's early childhood, Tessitore objectively discusses the writer's family life, education, military career, work, marriage, alcoholism, his wife's mental illness, his Hollywood experiences, and his eventual dissolution and death. Black-and-white photos of the subject throughout his life, his wife, daughter, and their contemporaries as well as some movie stills are included. Chapter notes, suggestions for further reading, and a list of film adaptations of the author's books conclude the volume. Since much of Fitzgerald's writing is autobiographical, this clear, concise volume will be a helpful resource for students studying his work.
