4.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Alarm Clock!
If you're just looking for a great alarm clock, this is it! The time automatically sets as soon as it's plugged in. The function buttons are easy to use & not too small. Thankfully, the clock is smaller than it appears in the photo, it's trim & neat. The sound is clear & strong. I like the added feature of weekday/weekend alarm, I never have to turn it off...

2.0 out of 5 stars Its about sound!!`
The auto set is GREAT! However, it is too bad they did not use a better radio or maybe just a better antenna! If you like tin you will love this radio. Granted its job is to wake you up, and you will move very quickly to shut this thing off. But I like to sit and listen to NPR for a few minutes before I go downstairs for coffee. I tried moving this thing around the room...

4.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Alarm Clock!, May 30, 2001

If you're just looking for a great alarm clock, this is it! The time automatically sets as soon as it's plugged in. The function buttons are easy to use & not too small. Thankfully, the clock is smaller than it appears in the photo, it's trim & neat. The sound is clear & strong. I like the added feature of weekday/weekend alarm, I never have to turn it off. My one concern was that I like to set my clock a few minutes fast, but no problem, not only could I manually adjust the time, but when I unplugged the clock it not only had the correct time when I replugged it, it also kept the time I had adjusted it to. After you hit the snooze button the alarm light blinks to let you know that the alarm is still active and will be going off again in 9 or 10 minutes. I was searching for an alarm clock for a while, this one makes me very happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars How does it know, November 27, 2000
This review is from: HH Scott SCR120 E-Z Set TM Clock Radio (Silver Metallic) (Electronics)
When they say E-Z Set alarm clock they mean easy. All I did is plug it in and it was set for the right time. It even came with the battery for back up to save my dual alarm settings. No more having to worry about the power going out, this clock sets itself and even adjust to daylight savings time and leap year.

Granted its job is to wake you up, and you will move very quickly to shut this thing off. But I like to sit and listen to NPR for a few minutes before I go downstairs for coffee. I tried moving this thing around the room just to get away from the crackle, no luck. I even tried tuning in to a top 40 super station better, but we still had tin and a bit of a crackle. I live 10 miles from downtown Columbus Ohio so we are not exactly in the sticks, and the radio signals to all other radios in the house come in load and CLEAR. This radio does hold the distinction of being the first item I have ever returned to Amazon - maybe you will have better luck with it - but I doubt it. It sure would be nice if they could make an easy to set, good sounding, reasonably priced clock radio. Consider the Sony ICF-C255RC "Dream Machine"

5.0 out of 5 stars Best alarm clock you'll ever buy, September 2, 2001

This is an incredible clock, and an amazing value! It actually looks much sexier than the photo. The functions are perfect. Speaking as one who (as a frequent traveler) has had to deal with hundreds of terrible alarm clocks over the years, I was stunned when this one won my immediate affection. It's terrifically easy to use and read. You cannot go wrong!

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST alarm clock I've ever owned!, August 28, 2001

I must have went through a half dozen different alarm clocks before I found this little dream machine. It's easy to set, easy to shut off, sounds good, let's you know the day and the date when you wake, etc... The only negative is that the display is a little too bright. I love it just the same though.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Clock/Night Light, May 31, 2003

Purchased this clock for the dual weekday/weekend alarms and auto set function. Performs well at both tasks. Found the radio hard to tune even for the strongest stations as well as exhibiting poor sound quality. The green LED display is inappropriate for an alarm clock. H.H. Scott - consider using red seven segment displays. The alarm clock will light up your bedroom even on the dimmed setting. If you prefer a dark room for a good nights sleep, look elsewhere for an alarm clock. Other than the undesirable night light feature, the clock is acceptable. I will probably cover the display with red acetate rather then return the item.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great buy, but it's not exactly what I was looking for., July 25, 2002

This radio alarm clock seems like a great buy for the money. It keeps time after the power goes off, it sets itself (and that really works, but only the first time), it has a great snooze feature (9 minutes) and it has two alarm settings so you can sleep in some days if you like.
Three problems:

1. The lights are too bright. There are two settings. On bright you need sunscreen, on dim, it's simply not dim enough for my tastes.

2. The alarm is too loud. It needs a volume control. Some people need this, I don't. In the end, I use it everynight.

3. And this is the worst. The time gains about 2 minutes per week. Perhaps it's my electric power fluctuations, but none of my other clocks gain time.

Clock maintains its accuracy and alarms are easy to set.
FM radio is noisy and has poor sensitivity even on strong stations.
Its light weight requires one hand to hold and the other to turn alarms on or off.
You get what you pay for.

2.0 out of 5 stars Really Great...Until..., November 29, 2004

This review is from: HH Scott SCR120 E-Z Set TM Clock Radio (Silver Metallic) (Electronics)
I loved this cloack radio for a while. After a year or so, the line segments that make up the time started to burn out one at a time. Now so many of them are off, the time is completely unreadable. The alarms still go off very reliably, but I defy you to set the alarm or read the time with only about half the bars working.

3.0 out of 5 stars Perfect... for awhile, June 22, 2004
This review is from: HH Scott SCR120 E-Z Set TM Clock Radio (Silver Metallic) (Electronics)
I loved how this clock would automatically reset it's time AND alarms after a power failure. It was also easy to change time zones so you could bring it on vacation with you.

After about three years (I think, maybe less,) it just lost power. I had to hit the dresser it was set upon and then it would kick back on and reset it's time. Not very reliable anymore... I've since tossed it.
