excellent introduction to fluid kettlebell style,

This review is from: Scott Sonnon's OFFICIAL KETTLEBELL FOUNDATION (DVD)
having seen a lot of other kettlebell videos by Pavel Tsatsouline and his students, I was a little surprised to see the way the exercises performed on this video. Sonnon breaks the techniques into much more detail, with very specific points on alignment and form that were only suggested in other material. additionally, there are a number of key differences in Sonnon's style from Pavel or Steve Cotter's material. I found that by following Sonnon's techniques, I was able to do a lot more repetitions with less strain.
since my first exposure to this video, Girevoy Sport style has become a lot more well-known, and from that perspective I can't say this is the best video out there. Denis Kanygin's material, for instance, teaches the GS lifts in much stricter form. still, I appreciate the way this video breaks the lifts into components and points of alignment, and the breathing and recovery techniques are very useful. moreover, the second two DVDs present some really excellent material culled from Sonnon's other work. kettlebell lifts can be very hard on your body, and the material on the second two DVDs go a long way to helping minimize and recover from this strain. although it definitely rubbed me the wrong way when Scott says he "invented" joint mobility fifteen years ago. refining or systematizing something is not the same as inventing it. the main problem with this video is that, like many RMAX products, the price is a bit steep.

Not exactly what I expected but what I needed,

This really is a great product. My original thought was I was going to learn ways to improve my GS sport lifts. I was picturing here is the Long Cycle and when coming into the rack be sure you are doing this etc. Well this dvd is not like that. Where this DVD shines is in the warm up and cool down sections. Which in the long run will improve all of our GS lifts.
The warm up has many moves I have never seen before and the mobility gained has helped me get my elbows in for my rack position. The cool down portion has left me free of pain and ready to train. Before this dvd my right shoulder gave me a lot of grief and after a couple of weeks of the included warm up and cool down it feels great. I know its from the great exercises like the handcuff, eagle and hitch hikers. This really is a great titled DVD. A lot of people want to rush in and start training for Master of Sport without paying any attention to preparation and recovery needed to perform thousands of cleans and jerks on a monthly basis. This really is a valuable tool for anyone that works out not just kettlebellers. The only downside is the price. I think a fair price would have been $50 but hey I'm no accountant and I have no idea how much money Scott has spent around the world learning these techniques.
