4.0 out of 5 stars Decent General Catalog, June 30, 2006
This review is from: Scott 2006 Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue, Vol. 4: Countries of the World- J-O (Paperback)
As standard catalogs go, the Scott series is fine for most people. There are still some questionable decisions on the numbering system, but that has always been true with Scott. And I still can't fully accept their decision to list "semi-postal" issues in a seperate section. Also, don't expect to find detailed listings of varieties. Anyone who is interested in a specific country (or topic) will already know to look for one of the specialised catalogs covering that area. A major improvement is the addition of color images throughout the series. This makes identification easier if the stamp is illustrated, but given the flood of issues over the past few decades, chances are that you'll still have to look to the design descriptions to track things down.
