Not New Condition,

I was pleased with the time it took to receive the item; especially considering the time of year, but when I opened the package I was somewhat disappointed with what I received. The first thing I noticed was some of the threads of the binding were coming off. There were a few black spots of an unknown substance that I was not able to completely remove, as well as many scratches on both the front and back cover. I will have to actually find a way to fix the sewn in Scotty book mark whose ears and tail are peeling apart. The one thing that is 'New' are the pages that seem to have no damage to them that I have found. I would have expected this item to be placed in Used condition.
