Giving this product 1 star is too high for me. DO NOT buy this product. I tried this last year (2010); the grass grew in perfectly -I was so pleased. Then, all of a sudden, it all turned brown and died. I thought I had done something wrong since it had grown in so nicely. Thinking it was me, I tried again this year (2011). Once again, the grass grew in perfectly. I followed all instructions to the tee and thought for sure I would be happy. Once again, everything turned brown and died. Looking at my lawn you can see where the EZ Seed was used. Not only did it die and turn brown within weeks, it has left bare spots where nothing grows. It literally left scars on my lawn. I have healthy soil and take pride in my yard and lawn. I will be submitting my receipts for a full refund to Scott's. This is expensive stuff and I feel they are taking advantage of consumers with a product that doesn't work. Please, save your money and do not purchase this product. In fact, it is my opinion, it should be taken off the market. Check out Scott's own website and read the reviews there as well.

I really think that it's hard to get a true sense of how something is going to work when it's performance is so dependent on conditions. I was hesitant to purchase this product because of some of the reviews but after using it I thought I would share my experience. We applied this to a section of a new lawn we were putting in (between pavers). The soil was very rich loose composted soil. We applied the product very heavy (approximately twice as much as the directions stated). We watered the area once a day for a few minutes. It took two weeks for the seeds to get started. From week 2 to week 3 It's really grown well. It did so well we decided to do the rest of the lawn with this product.
I think this is a good product. Not sure if it's the best one on the market but we have grass and that's what we wanted. I think it could work for anyone if the soil is properly prepared, it's watered properly, and the area is protected from traffic.

I was getting ready to start using Scotts EZ seed when one of my neighbors was walking by and told me that they had no luck with this seed. I just figured that they must have done something wrong so I re-read the directions and followed them to the letter and got the same results as my neighbor. I end up buying a different grass seed and had great results.
I emailed Scotts about the EZ Seed only to get an email back basically telling me I was an idot and they attached a copy of the instructions. Glad to see Scotts stands behind the products.
Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from the EZ seed.

Good product
This product does what it claims. I give it only 4 stars because I also previously spread standard seed what sprouted faster than the E-Z Seed.

The worst experience ever!
Unfortunately I have to agree with Jeff N. French. I followed the instructions and I believed when it said "Grows anywhere, guaranteed!"... Really??? Read more

i was a little disapointed
this seed did grow but with all the fill that tells u when to water really does not give u much seed and it can wash away in rain and if windy will get scattered

Great Product!
Received fast, box was intact no leaks in package. The product is by far the best in my opinion if you want a fast, great looking dog friendly rugged lawn.
