Benefits of Multiple Feedings
Benefits of multiple feedings

Make lawn care simple by following these 4 Easy Steps:

1. Feed Regularly
Feeding your lawn twice in the spring and twice in the fall helps strengthen it to crowd out weeds and protect against heat and drought. There are Nitrogen-rich lawn foods that can be applied to any grass type and many products are kid and pet friendly when used as directed. If you want to kill dandelions and other major lawn weeds* while you feed, you can apply Weed & Feed products. *See label for listed weeds.

2. Mow High and Return Clippings
Mowing at a higher height allows the grass to grow in thick and develop a strong, deep root system. Leaving grass clippings on the lawn helps to recycle plant nutrients back into the soil.

3. Water Your Lawn
Well-fed lawns use water more efficiently than their unfed counterparts but you still need to water your lawn! When grass needs water, it will let you know by wilting or dulling in color. Try to take advantage of nature’s sprinkler instead of your own as often as possible and rely on the rain to water your lawn.

4. Repair Bare Spots
Reseeding bare areas in your lawn helps keep it thick and prevents weeds from taking hold. There are number of combination grass seed products available that are great for different kinds of lawns. Try Scotts EZ Seed products!

I've been using Scotts Turf Builder Weed and Feed for years It does a pretty good job it keeping my grass green and free of weeds.
There are couple of things that you need to be aware of for best results and not destroying your lawn. First, do not use it in the middle of the summer if your area gets very hot. It's a sure way to fry your grass. I use it in the Spring. I apply it once in April, and once in May. That is usually enough to keep my lawn in good shape. My second tip is don't over-feed. More is not better. Use the recommended amount for your spreader, and apply to a damp lawn. Water your lawn before applying, not after.

Scotts Turf Builder Weed and Feed doesn't perform miracles, but when I use it properly it works well for me.

It seemed to work very well. I had tons of dandelions and now have none. It does not work as well on other broad leaf weeds though but if your goal is dandelions then this is good.

Bought a new house in a nice development with a 1.5 acre lot. The only problem was the people before us didn't take care of the lawn. When you drove into the development you would look across our pond and see our yard covered in yellow dandelions and thin grass juxtaposed amongst out neighbors' beautiful green lawns.

Long story short, I used less than 2 bags for entire lawn (got way more out of it the. I thought I would). It actually rained at a moderate intensity for several hours right after I did it (weatherman lied). I then mowed two days later.

I would say about 10% of the dandelions came back after I mowed but they were bent and warped and scraggly looking things. A week later I mowed again and here I sit, a month later and have seen maybe 4 or 5 dandelions. Not bad considering I had thousands and thousands of dandelions.

Oh and the yard looks much greener and lusher too!

I used this once and most if the weeds did not grow back after that first use!! I will apply it once more before summer and again in the fall. My yard looks so good already, we are very pleased!! As was recommended in a previous review, I applied the granules to a damp lawn and did not water after.

I have not used weed and feed products for years, choosing to spot weed with products like Weed-be-gone and Spectrazide weed killers. This years, Scotts had a good deal if you bought the yearly regime so I bought this as part of the package. The problem is that this has to be applied to a wet lawn. You either have to get out while the dew is on the ground or water your lawn before you apply it. This makes it a messy operation. Since your feet and spreader get wet, the weed and feed sticks to you and the spreader. By the time I was finished, my spreader and my feet were just covered with the stuff. I had to hose us both off when I finished. In addition, you have to be very careful that you do not get it on your flowers or it will kill them too. This is especially difficut if you use a broadcast spreader. While the product may work well, and I can not attest to that because I control my weeds through the year with the liquid applications. For me, it is just too much of a pain to use and I will go back to just plain fertilizer and spot weeding.

I have used scotts at least multiple times for 2 years and again this year. I did 1 less than the usual setting of 3 1/2 setting for the first . I chose about a 3 on the scotts broadcast spreader than about 2 weeks later I did another treatment of about a 4 which is more than the recommended setting. First off it has pros. It makes the yard greener, it does indeed kill some weeds, but it does not kill all the weeds. I would say if it kills half of the weeds you will be lucky. For me it killed a quarter of weeds approx. And remember I used a double treatment. The results never change for me. I am always disappointed although it does work somewhat! I wish I could get my money back. I had to go spot treat the lawn weeks after which always works. Please allow me to save you time and money find something that works a little better if you want amazing results quick! Thanks GOdbless you and your lawn!

This is my go to product for early spring fertilizing. I was starting to notice some dandelions growing in my grass and knew that I was already too late on applying this! I hand pulled the few weeds that were on the lawn and hit it with two perpendicular applications of this product. Now I have green grass and no weeds.
