I've bought the cheap spreaders before this one and have to say this one out performs the rest. Good, even distribution of fertilizer, easy to put together. Money well spent.

The wheel broke as the spreader was being assembled and Scotts hasn't seen fit to send the replacement they promised. With snow on the ground now, it's not that important but I'd say old Scotts is not quite up to par.

These are junk ... the last one I'll buy from Home Depot or Lowes ... the axle/rotor mechanism doesn't work well and the handle, while made to disassemble easily and fold, is a severe weakness of the unit. It's very frustrating to be pushing 25 lbs of fertilizer only to have the axle lock-up and spill half of the load on the lawn - it burns the grass and is time consuming to clean up. Scotts has low brand reputation with me ... words like "cheap" and "consumer grade" and "Made in China" come to mind ... boy something more commercial grade and use it for years to come, that's my plan.

It does it's job!
First of all took me forever to put this together. Had to go on Youtube to get a full length video on how to attach just one piece. Read more

Scotts Spreader
Fairly easy to assemble. Once assembled, it worked great!! Easy to clean and since it is not metal, I don't have to worry about rusting. Read more

Falls apart
Very poorly built product. As others have warned, the axle locks up. Then the flimsy metal twists, and the whole thing falls apart. Lasted for about two uses.

This product performs as advertized. A Particuarly nice feature is that you can change the settings so easily!

So far so good
I did use Scott's products in this spreader and it worked fine. I have a 6,000 sq foot lot that is very bumpy with plenty of holes and the spreader just went right over them. Read more

Pure junk that Scotts wants you to purchase annually!
This spreader is horrendous. It lasted for about 5 uses before falling apart. Unfortunately, there are not many alternatives in the stores.

GREAT FOR SMALL LAWNS
This is a real nice spreader for small lawns. It fits nicely on top of my mower for storage. Handles can also be folded down for storage. Read more

Let me get back to you in 5 months!
Well, it's winter, so I have no clue how well this thing works. I do know they shipped it quick, it was packed well, and assembly was a snap!
