Amazon.com Product Description

Spreading fertilizer, grass seed, and weed and feed is traditionally a messy business. Rather than pulling out the heavy seed bags and sloppy spreading tools, many homeowners put off the activity as long as possible. Enter the Snap spreader, the revolutionary spreader system from Scotts. With an intuitive design that clicks your bag in place and an automatic applicator, the Snap spreader makes short work of any lawn. No heavy bags. No messy pouring. No complicated settings. Just a great lawn, made easy.

The Snap-Pac System

The Snap spreader comes with a single Snap-Pac lawn fertilizer bag that builds strong, deep roots for any grass type. To use, simply connect the Snap-Pac bag to the spreader via a quick click, flip the lever to lock the Snap-Pac in place, and go. The Snap-Pac automatically sets the proper application rate, so you can feel confident that your lawn is getting just the right amount to thrive. And when you're done feeding the lawn, the Snap-Pac disconnects just as easily and self-seals upon removal. No mess, no hassle.

The Snap spreader further minimizes mess with its built-in EdgeGuard feature. The EdgeGuard allows you to close the right side of your spreader pattern to more efficiently edge around sidewalks, landscaped areas, and driveways. And storing the Snap spreader couldn't be easier thanks to the folding handle. With a quick fold, you can store the spreader on a shelf or even hang it on the wall.

The Benefits of Feeding Your Lawn Regularly

A healthy lawn creates a welcoming space for your friends and family. By feeding your lawn, you provide the nutrients your lawn needs to grow deep roots, making it more stress-resistant. Just as importantly, you can dramatically improve the appearance of your lawn in just two feedings. The Snap spreader makes feeding your lawn a snap, without the mess and guesswork of other lawn feeding systems.

Kid- and pet-friendly, the Snap-Pac lawn fertilizer is suitable for any season, and promotes a quick greening effect while feeding the grass over an extended period. Scotts also sells a variety of additional Snap-Pacs to meet your lawn needs, including weed and feed, weed and feed for warm regions, fertilizer with crabgrass preventer, insect killer, ant killer, tall fescue grass seed mix, and sun and shade grass seed mix.

This is a very well made product that is also easy to use.

Unit is light weight but solid and is easily pushed over rough ground, up and down hills (so I'm sure it would be extremely easy on a flat yard).

It truly is a 'snap' to load the fertilizer bag and start using this product. Set the bag in place (and you cannot do it incorrectly), flip one lever and you're ready to go. Unit is light weight but solid and is easily pushed over rough ground, up and down hills (so I'm sure it would be extremely easy on a flat yard). You are limited to using the (somewhat pricy) refill bags, but if you're looking for a very simple and quick way to feed & weed your yard, you won't be disappointed with this Scotts product.

Nothing easier than this Scott's spreader. No fuss no muss. Also compact and easy to store. Since the Scotts replacement bags are so expensive I have found a way around this. When the bag of fertilizer that came with the spreader is empty, simply leave in the spreader and slit an opening at the top. I then go to WalMart and buy a 40 lb bag of similar fertilizer for $30 and pour in the opening of the empty Scott's bag. Works great.

I just used my new Scott Snap lawn spreader for the 1st time this week and I am very happy with it. The Snap Pack bags lock into the spreader by simply moving a lever on the front of the spreader. When you are done, just unlock the Snap Pack without any muss or fuss to store what is left. The Snap Packs come with either fertilizer or weed and feed depending on which you want to use. There is a squeeze handle at the top to start dispensing. When you release the handle it stops dispensing. The spreader also has an Edge Guard feature that blocks the product from dispensing from the right side. This is handy when you are rolling it along a driveway or sidewalk. You don't waste any product by spreading it all over the concrete. Just flip a lever near the top handle to turn the edge guard feature on or off. The unit itself is light, easy to push, and uncomplicated to use. The handle folds down to take up less storage space. The part I liked best was how easy it was to take the Snap Packs on and off without any mess or cleanup. Easy to store too. It made fast work of feeding the lawn. I recommend it.
