1.0 out of 5 stars Almost 2 Weeks and Still Not a Single Blade!, July 6, 2011
By
Marc Manfre (Farmingdale, NJ, US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Scotts Turf Builder Tall Fescue, 40 Lbs
I planted this seed in a 20x20 area of my front lawn. I prepped the entire area by tilling the existing soil (a sandy consistency) then adding a layer of bagged top soil to enrich the soil. I've been watering three times a day for the past two weeks and, so far, not a single blade of new grass has sprouted. According to the bag, it takes 6 to 14 days to germinate. To top it off, we had terrible rain here today and much of the new topsoil (along with most of the seed I imagine) has washed away. Looks like much time, money and energy has been wasted. I am not happy at all. I called Scotts directly and was told to "wait another 7 to 10 days and see what happens". Very dissapointed in a company I thought I could trust. Who would have thought that grass could actually be hard to grow! From what I've been reading online, others are experiencing similar results (or should I say LACK of results). Scotts dropped the ball on this one for sure. I have no doubt they will make good on the price of the bag of seed however that's just a fraction of what I've spent thus far.

I do not recommend this product.
