About the Author
The author, a Scouter for many years, has served as Cubmaster,Committee Chairman,Assistant Scoutmaster Camping Committee Chairman and is a member of the Order Of The Arrow. While seeing his two sons, one an Eagle,through the Scouting years he saw the need for a book just like Scout Camps USA -a guide for Troops that wanted to Explore The Scout Camping Network- to combat " same old campitis".There being no single, up to date source for information on Scout Camps in the United States Mr. Fairbank has written Scout Camps USA.The author remains active in scouting as a Troop Committee member and assists in Order of the Arrow fund raising,Camping and adventure projects.A second edition of the book is planned to include Canadian Camps and additional listings for the 800 or so Boy Scout weekend ,Cub Scout and wilderness camps but is in the planning stages only.
