Editorial Reviews

It's merit badge mania when not-too-bright but very enthusiastic Tiger Scout Brandon Appleorchard (played by former SNL funnyman Chris Kattan) joins a highly competitive contest to win the position of head honcho at a scouting camp. Veteran comedian Fred Willard co-stars as the camp's Game Master alongside Kattan's real-life father, Kip King, in this kooky comedy about one man's quest to be the best.

Customer Reviews

We base a ninety minute film on this premise.

They are standing in a bedroom the size of a bathroom trying to dance for the dance merit badge.

The plot was stupid, the acting was terrible and it was just a waste of time.

Grab your bong (beer or other), kick back and check out this insane comedy movie!! If you're looking for something like THE KINGS SPEECH or SOCIAL NETWORK, you're looking in the wrong place. However, if you want a stupid comedy for some laughs and a little diversion from the mundane, SCOUTS HONOR: BADGE TO THE BONE is the right kind of movie for you! A bunch of crazy characters (aren't they all a little old for summer camp??) pepper this story about sibling rivalry as 3 brothers fight over control of the nuttiest Tiger Scout Camp in America. Chris Kattan shows off his in-your-face comedy chops, made famous on Saturday Night Live, and Fred Willard adds some of the deadpan, hilarious character work that made him the favorite of movies like BEST IN SHOW and WAITING FOR GUFFMAN. Likely best viewed under some kind of intoxication... :) Enjoy!

I rented this poor rehearsal from Redbox for 1.00. This movie does not even qualify to be in the forgotten budget dollar films bin at Dollar General Store. I could only put up with about 10 mins of "it" ... I would not recommend this splice of crap film to anyone. I would probably say it cost about 200 pesos to slap it together. In my most accurate conclusion, I give it 2 broke thumbs and 10 stinky toes way down, grade -F, flunk, flunk, stunk, The best part of this poop film was when I got up, came to somewhat of a reality check and flinged it out of the dvd player.

I had to write a review and warn everyone to steer clear of this lemon. It is not worth watching. It is not even really a movie, it was clearly filmed by three drunks with a camera, who I guess are friends with Cris Kattan, because that is the only way that he would have stooped this low and done it.
Fred willard was hired to do several jokes over the intercom, so he probably did not know how bad the film was until he saw the final cut. What am I talking about? Every scene was most likely the first take.
For example, there are several scenes showing two thirty something, fat, shirtless men trying to earn merit badges. They are standing in a bedroom the size of a bathroom trying to dance for the dance merit badge. Denied! Then in another scene they are rolling around on the floor trying to earn their wresting badge. Denied! It isn't funny. Anyone can take better footage with a cell phone camera.
In fact, the entire "film" is grainy and has an orange hue throughout.
Trust me, take your own friends outside and film them. You will definitely capture some funnier stuff!

I LOVE Chris Kattan, which is why I bought this. I suffered through this sketch-gone-wrong hoping for a laugh. My teen boy liked the bathroom humor, which ABOUNDS in this flick. I did have two little clips/quotes I like. Brandon (kattan)- screaming "I'm awesome", and the object of his affection, with make-up smeared face saying "I just don't feel very pretty today"
It probably only deserves one or two stars, but it's Kattan.
