I wanted a nice gift for wife for Christmas and she loves Scrabble. In theory, this is a nice set. I like the rotating board and storage option, but I feel that the quality is not what I would expect for $100. The "sticker" overlay for the board has a wrinkle in it and scratches easily. The wood has a ding in it. I had hoped that this would be something that would last for years to come, but I am not sure why the manufacturing is not up to par. It, like most toys and items these days, is made in China. The game itself is fun and I like the nice touches, but I think Hasbro's quality control may be slipping.

This edition is very nice for any true Scrabble fan, especially with the wood rotating board and nice tile bag. However, this can be purchased directly from Hasbro [...]. Why pay double the price when it is in stock there? You can also frequently find coupons for free shipping and 10-25% off as well. I love Amazon but some of the people who sell products on through Amazon are pathetically over-priced.

This product is extremely low quality and absolutely not worth the price. Scrabble is a great game, but this product is by no means "deluxe." The tile holders are glued together crookedly, the "leather" bag is plastic, the wood is particle board, and the construction is flimsy. Don't buy this product.

My husband purchased the Deluxe Scrabble game because, after playing every day for over 15 years our old Scrabble game was beginning to wear out. When he lifted the new game from the box about 50 ball bearings fell out of the part that allows the game to revolve. They bounced all over the floor. No one had bothered to plug the hole. These metal bearings would be DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN.
The "Faux Ivory" letter pieces are just white plastic, not as nice as the wooden ones in our old, less expensive set. When I reached inside the bag, I said "J" because I could feel the outline of the letter.
The top of the board is made of paper which looks like it will wear out very quickly. Our cheaper set is paper protected by clear plastic so it doesn't scratch, stain, or wear out.
It is obvious by the poor workmanship that this product was not made in the USA.
Scrabble is an enduring, educational and endlessly challenging game. It does not have to be
"Faux Deluxe" or overpriced to be worthwhile. We are returning it.

the premier wood scrabble luxury edition is so worth the extra money! the rotating board allows all players to easily read the board while playing- you don't have to worry about knocking letters off when trying to turn the game around so you can see! the wood makes it all the fancier and more official, and the grooves for holding the letters in place allow you to feel completely comfortable handling this classy game board!

For the money spent on this game, I was extremely disappointed. It states it is the Premier product, however, it is anything but. The underlayment was extremely uneven to start with so there was gap on either side of the board. There were 2 areas that didn't match up with the grid. The drawer pull was crooked. Overall, just really disappointed. The kids really didn't want to have to wait while I sent it back and wait for another. They really were excited to have the game. That is the ONLY reason I kept it, not to mention having to pay to ship it back.

I am so sad to have to give this a two star review, but I, like others here, purchased this as a gift for another hoping that it would be a quality, long-lasting game to hand down. It's not. The wood is still rough and not finished well at all, the green liner inside the drawer is a cheap, green flocked plastic insert (think cheap cheap jewelry box insert) that was cracked completely through in several places, and the record book fell apart before we even lifted it from the case. I made finer looking wood projects in shop in middle school. If it weren't for my husband (the gift receiver) insisting that it's not worth the effort to ship it back, I would in a heartbeat.

By the way the two good stars are for the very top of the board and the letters, both of which *seem* to be made decently. And the fact that we love the game Scrabble.

This game is very disappointing. I expected a much better, higher quality item, for the price. I would not buy this item again, nor would I recommend it. The workmanship is cheap, it looks cheap, and there are chips in the wood. I gave it as a gift to my son and was embarrassed. My son didn't want to hurt my feelings and insisted he liked it. Caveat Emptor!

This is a great scrabble board for the serious player - but I don't think it would be useful for someone who player scrabble occasionally. This is a "big board" and I don't think it would work well for putting away / taking out. We leave our scrabble board out all the time.
I was a bit hesitant to purchase this board because the letter tiles are not wood - they're a slightly textured faux ivory (plastic). After playing maybe 10 games since Christmas, I can say that the letters "pass the test" and work well. Because they are an ivory color, they are higher contract and it seems a bit easier to see view.

Bought this as a gift for my adult son as a Christmas gift. The set is amazing. The tiles are almost ivory-like in quality. We wasted no time playing on Christmas Eve (I won!). Shipped quickly, packed with care. For the Scrabble lovers, this is a must have set. Have seen this in higher end stores for much more so the value of the set makes it that much more of a treasure. Sure to be a collector's edition.
