Exactly what I needed!,

This review is from: Scrap Therapy Cut the Scraps!: 7 Steps to Quilting Your Way through Your Stash (Paperback)
When I saw this book was on the way out, I was excited. I have needed someone to teach me how to deal with all the fabric scraps I have collected for the past 20 years. I had to read the book first, but now I am ready to really get moving on my stash. The suggestions were good ideas, right to the point, and easy to do. This is a great book for beginners, just learning how to quilt, because the author goes into great detail and the pictures make the instructions easy to follow. I can't wait to actually get started on some of the projects.

A Little Disappointed,

I was expecting something new. Most of the quilting patterns are not recent, but are the "Scrap Therapy" patterns that came out with the concept. The misc. projects in the book weren't anything I haven't already made or ones I don't want to make. I may later pass this book along as a "re-gift" to someone. I was disappointed and wouldn't suggest buying unless you don't already have the original "Scrap Therapy" patterns .

This book has a good concept about organizing and cutting your small fabric scraps into ready to use squares for use in one or more of the patterns provided. I also enjoyed the author's refreshing comments about her relaxed quilting style and techniques.

This is a great book for those of us who were introduced to Scrap Therapy at our local quilt shop. It is also a great book for those who didn't have it offered at their local shop but have scraps to use up!The system is explained in the book and there are projects both large and small to use them up!

Borrowed it from the library - had to buy it!,
This review is from: Scrap Therapy Cut the Scraps!: 7 Steps to Quilting Your Way through Your Stash (Paperback)
I am in the midst of creating a sewing space in my home and wanted to organize it for quilting projects. I stumbled upon this book at my local library, so took it home, devoured it, and decided I MUST buy it. I've never taken the "Scrap Therapy" class that some have mentioned in reviews so, to me, this is a new and welcome approach to dealing with scraps. I can't wait to get started!

I'm so inspired by this book. Being a novice to the quilting business, the pieces of scrap material started to pile up. I've started to cut the scrap pieces in preferred block sizes as suggested by the author. There is light at the end of the tunnel

New Year's Resolution,

My stash was a mess. I've been costuming for plays for years. I've made clothing for my kids, and now I'm a quilter. I had boxes and bags of things I knew I would never use, and scraps I didn't want to throw away - for sentimental reasons. Thanks to this book I've been happily cutting up those odd shaped bits and tidying them into far smaller space. I'm looking forward to all the scrappy projects both in this book and my other books that will use the pre-cut pieces I have ready now. Thanks Joan.

I borrowed this book from the public library and enjoyed it so much that it was overdue to return. I knew then that it was a keeper, so I bought a copy here on Amazon! I have used a "Scrap Users System" for years but this added another dimension to it! It's amazing how organizing my scraps makes it so quick to put together a quilt!!

I have just received this book, spent a few hours reading it and have decided it is a must-have for any quilter who has piles of scraps (just like me). I intend to sit with it today and decide which project would suit my scraps best and get started! A good scrap book!
