More About the Author

Joan Ford took her first quilting class on February 8, 2003. From the very start she was hooked! A few years later, she realized, like most quilters do, that her growing scrap fabric stash was the source of guilt because the beautiful leftover fabrics were not being used. Her first book, ScrapTherapy, Cut the Scraps! introduces quilters to a simple concept to cut, store, and use leftover fabric squares in coordinated scrappy quilt projects.

I loved loved loved the original scraptherapy book and have the bins with my scraps to prove it plus several completed projects, so I eagerly bought this book, but there is not enough new or appealing material in here to make me really excited about starting a project. If you don't have the first book, buy that one. It is great. I will keep this book too, but am not as excited about the projects in here as I am with the projects in the first book. Maybe my expectations were too high. Not sure, but a trifle dissapointed.

Lots of repeat information from the first book...in fact most of the book is a re-run. A few more new patterns. But if you already have the first book no real need for this one. If you do not have the first book...no need in getting it.

Love using my scraps and the idea of adding one to those scraps. There are several quilts in the book that I plan to make. Joan's instructions are excellent. Very clear and some extra tips or techniques that are easy and may be new to you. This is a great companion to her first book, Cut the Scraps

I was thrilled with Joan's first Scrap Therapy book and I'm just as pleased with her second; Scraps Plus One!
So much in fact, that I got to work on one of her patterns right away!
I had just the right scraps cut and ready to go to make her Flower Bed quilt.
And it was so quick and easy! You can see it here: [...]

Joan's instructions are written so well. If you're new to quilting, you will love the diagrams and well written directions.
She even tells you which direction to press your seams.

I'm looking forward to making more projects in this book!
Thanks again Joan Ford and Taunton Press for a well done book!

This is a good book but I am probably not going to cut all my stash up in squares. I like to cut my fabric to the specific quilt I am working on. It would be a good thing to do with the left-overs from each project though.

Easy to read and easier to convert to your stash of pieces. You can use lots of small pieces to make a beautiful quilt

with the great experience of the first scrap book, and the recommended therapy, I pruchased "Plus One". What intrigued me most was the cover photos! The pillow and the tote. I was not disappointed. As a quilter, I have scraps of every color size and shape. Great books---waste not want not.

I really like these patterns. All patterns use either and/or all of 5". 3 1/2", or 2" squares. The directions are easy to follow. I use up a lot of my scraps using these patterns. I even keep these size squares on hand for easy gathering for the projects.
