5.0 out of 5 stars The Scrapbooker's Almanac
This book is GREAT. A must have for interesting project ideas for every month of the year. The layouts and projects are beautiful by the contributors and the writing is witty and inspiring. My favorite project is probably probably the Groundhog Day inspired (what day would you live over and over) but there are so many to choose from. I love that it follows the Simple...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not overly inspiring
While a lot of the layouts in this book are creative and original, I just couldn't get inspired by a lot of the suggestions for scrapbooking each month. Personally, I have so many pictures that could be utilized for several different things, I don't get overly enthusiastic about scrapping layouts for say, Groundhog Day. But for those of you who are interested in trying...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Scrapbooker's Almanac, December 11, 2007
This review is from: The Scrapbooker's Almanac (Simple Scrapbooks) (Spiral-bound)
This book is GREAT. A must have for interesting project ideas for every month of the year. The layouts and projects are beautiful by the contributors and the writing is witty and inspiring. My favorite project is probably probably the Groundhog Day inspired (what day would you live over and over) but there are so many to choose from. I love that it follows the Simple philosophy so well and keeps things doable for even the beginner. As an added bonus the book is spiral bound so it stays open while you are working. This is definitely a must have for my scrap library!

5.0 out of 5 stars unique and creative, April 28, 2008
This review is from: The Scrapbooker's Almanac (Simple Scrapbooks) (Spiral-bound)
What a wonderfully unique book....not just more of the "same old- same old". While I might not use every single idea, there certainly are plenty from which to choose. This is not meant to be a blueprint but a springboard.....an inspiration.

The contributors were well-chosen and their layouts were terrific. I look forward to using this well-formatted and creative book a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiration at every turn, December 11, 2007
This review is from: The Scrapbooker's Almanac (Simple Scrapbooks) (Spiral-bound)
What a fun book, what a well written book, what a beautiful book. I am still digesting every nuance. The great thing about this book is that there are layers of inspiration. The designs are inspirational. The words are inspirational. The special calendar dates/holidays/celebrations are inspirational. Inspiration is simply oozing out of the pages.
Each page, each layout, each word, needs to be savored because they all contain golden nuggets of insight
Lately scrapbooking books, while gorgeous to look at, have done little to motivate me to put glue to paper.
I have already started projects based on the inspiration of this book and I've had it less than 24 hours.
It's a great book.
I think, long term, it will not only inspire me to scrapbook more, but to celebrate all the special events of my life, be they annual or not. :)
Thanks Elizabeth and contributors for such a great book and all your hard work! :D

After reading this book, you will never look at a 12 month calendar the same again. Great project ideas and layouts. Embracing the simple clean lines that Simple is known for. No matter what stage you are in of the scrapbooking journey - you will find this book inspirational. To tell stories that might not otherwise get told.

If you are a seasoned scrapbooker or brand new to the hobby, this book was wonderful from cover to cover! The unique ideas based on favorite and unknown dates in history will knock your socks off and make you want to steal some time to sit and play with paper in your free time! Forget about the scrapbooking "rules" and traditional holidays you scrap, Mrs. Dillow and contributors stretch your imagination while encouraging one to make connections to your favorite hobbies, your favorite sports or even your favorite poets. Her writing is witty and informative and you will fall in love with the design & style that 'Simple' is famous for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, April 29, 2008
This review is from: The Scrapbooker's Almanac (Simple Scrapbooks) (Spiral-bound)
The Scrapbooker's Almanac is jam packed with fantastic ideas that any scrapbooker could find useful. I found that the book was timeless - as trends change and layouts become outdated, I think this book will stand the test of time. It provides a wealth of inspiration that you could use today, tomorrow, or even ten years from now. I found myself pouring over every page, squinting to see any little bit of tiny journaling. I couldn't put it down until I'd read it cover to cover at least once, and now I'm ready to go back in and devour each detail and incorporate them into my own scrapbooking. What a wonderful publication from Simple!

Personally, I have so many pictures that could be utilized for several different things, I don't get overly enthusiastic about scrapping layouts for say, Groundhog Day.
