Book Description

December 1, 2005
Scrapbookers now have their guide through the wonderful world of color, with lots of inspiration and ideas along the way.

How can you prevent an album filled with sepia-toned photos and brown paper from looking muddy? A white layout from becoming too washed-out? And how much color is too much? Scrapbookers struggle with these questions, but now they've reached the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, with a guide to all the color tools and techniques in the scrapbooking arsenal. They'll discover how to utilize whites and pastels, work with primary shades, employ a cornucopia of earth tones, exploit the versatility of blacks and grays, experiment with unusual combinations, and create intricate patterns. Fabulous layouts from top scrapbookers will help clarify the concepts, from adding flair with metallics and glitter to capturing the palette of sunsets for vacation or landscape pages. And there are creative sidebars, a personality profile survey to define your favorite hues, and hands-on exercises.

Kerry Arquette has authored numerous articles for national magazines and newspapers including: Memory Makers, Good Housekeeping, Ladies Home Journal, Woman's Day, and Parenting. She has also produced news segments for several network affiliate stations and has appeared as co-host and producer for PM Magazine.

Andrea Zocchi is a former Art Director for a large craft book publishing company. To date, he has art directed and designed more than 30 books, numerous catalogs, and marketing and educational material. Zocchi is the father of two boys, a fluent Italian speaker, and lives in Centennial, Colorado.

Whether you feel like you've already learned all there is to know about color, and its applications in scrapbooking, or feel you're a total novice, this book is a fabulous & fun reference. With nice big photos & pages to suit every taste and
fascinating interpretations of why the not-so-obvious color combo may very well be the perfect one, you'll find yourself turning to its pages time & again for both inspiration & motivation.

This review is from: The Scrapbooker's Color Palette: Using Color to Create Fabulous Scrapbook Pages (Hardcover)
The Scrapbooker's Color Palette is the most original and unique book in the area of scrapbooking that I have seen. Through hundreds of beautiful and inpiring examples of scrapbook art this book shows how to combine and use color. The tips in the book are just terrific. This is the first book on scrapbooking where the writing and the artwork are equally brilliant. The Scrapbooker's Color Palette is my number one scrapbooking inspiration and idea source! Any scrapbooker would love this book.
