This is the best scrapbooking book I've read so far. It covers basic design principles, how to take great pictures and how to crop them, journaling, scrapbooking space and organization, embellishments, choosing a scrapbook that's right for you, choosing colors, fonts/handwriting and much more. It's by the makers of Simple Scrapbooks magazine, so the designs are simple, clean and contemporary.

I highly recommend this book to beginners and experienced scrapbookers alike. It rocks.

It is a beautiful book and a big book. However it is definitely for someone who has never scrapbooked and is just starting. I didn't get very inspired by the layouts that are a bit old school and I was already familiar with the techniques. If you're looking for a challenge, that's not the book for you, but if you are looking to get started with this fabulous hobby, definitely a complete book.

I wanted to begin scrapping with a chronicle of our family vacation in a few weeks. But I didn't want to take a class. So, I bought this book, which is a wonderful compilation of articles from Simple Scrapbooks.

I couldn't have asked for better examples of the wonders of scrapbooking! It became clear right away that scrapbooking is not just putting pictures in a pretty and logical format. It's about recording memories, sharing who we and others we care about are, and chronicling the meaning of our lives.

The abundant examples of scrapbook pages show many techniques and layouts. But, more importantly, this book helps you solidify in your mind the things you want to say about those you love, in words and pictures. I'm happy to say I've already completed my first scrapbook page, on swimming lessons for my granddaughters in preparation for vacation. Next week: Mother's Day. I got some great shots!

After seeing so many scrapbook magazines and books, it is amazing to find something "new", with plenty of ideas and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend it.

I have probably been scrapping too long?

This book didn't suit me at all. However, it's a very nice book - and I am sure it's perfect for someone who's not yet defined their own style.

Still - with these books, I tend to feel they are mostly a gathering of different ideas I've already seen in the magazines... So if you're subscribing to SS - you won't need it.

I have come to the conclusion that I'm not a "scrapbooker." I am a "photograph album maker" who borrows ideas from scrapbookers. My objective is not to make beautiful and artistic pages that contain photographs as one of the elements. My objective is to display photographs in an attractive way, using backgrounds, decorative papers and other elements as supporting materials.

My album pages will never be as artistic as those displayed in this and other scrapbooking books. Mine have too many photographs on each page to allow for much decoration. But I borrow, a color scheme, an arrangement, a way of cropping, a captioning idea (I really can't call it "journaling") and it becomes a hybrid sort of scrapbooking.

This book, due to the uncluttered simplicity of the designs and layouts, provides me with more and better ideas on how to use my page to make my photo albums more than a chronological and geometric arrangement of photographs.

For everyone but the expert scrapper. This book is the 'missing bit' and has allowed me to develop my skills quickly. It includes small but detailed sections on all aspects of the craft - for those using computers as well as all the great tactile components. I haven't used all the sections yet - but using it just this morning I was able to overcome several of my hurdles. Fabulous!
