5.0 out of 5 stars The best book of scrapbooking I've found
I have been looking for quality scrapbooking idea books. This is the best one I've found. It has many wonderful ideas for scrapbook pages and doesn't try to sell any specific companys products. If you want a great idea book, this is it.

3.0 out of 5 stars a good starting point you'll quickly pass
This book has good advice and very nice illustrations. But it suffers from trying to do too many things and none of them in sufficient depth. I do like the pages shown, but the book doesn't have enough illustrations to be a really useful source of inspiration -- you'd be better off with one of those ``515 Ideas'' or ``200 Layouts'' books or a website. As for its tips on...

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love This Book!, February 9, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Scrapbooking with Memory Makers (Hardcover)
I'm new at scrapbooking and this is a great book which inspired me to set goals for myself! It offers ideas from beginners to advanced, and I'm definately going to try my hand at some of the advanced! It also gives wonderful descriptions of what you should and shouldn't use in a scrapbook. Plus, it helps you to decide what direction to go in for specific themes! Everyone who scrapbooks should own this book!

As for its tips on how to use products, all you really need to grasp is that you should use archival materials, and after that you'll learn more in half an hour just browsing through the products at any decent-sized crafts store. I strongly recommend reading this book, but -- well, does Amazon allow us to suggest borrowing from the library?

5.0 out of 5 stars A great introduction to Scrapbooking!, April 3, 2002

For someone just getting into Scrapbooking, this is a wonderful book. The pictures are gorgeous, and the authors give a good general introduction to the supplies you will need, and the techniques you will use.

They even have an index where you can see exactly what products were used in the pictured lay-outs.

What really got me to buy this book was the 3 templates in a pocket in the back of the book! There are 2 L-shaped rulers with all kinds of neat shapes/letters, etc, and interesting borders and corner designs to use in your scrapbook.

A bonus: a card entitling you to a free issue of "Memory Makers Magazine". All in all, an excellent deal!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great addition to your scrapbooking library!, July 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Scrapbooking with Memory Makers (Hardcover)
I'm somewhat of a beginner, but just about ready to move to the intermediate side of the spectrum, and this book seems like a good transition. The pages on display are creative, and fun. Although, there were a few that I don't think I will ever be able to do. The special offer and rulers are also a nice addition.

I held out on 5 stars, because I could have used a little more instruction on some of the pages that were displayed. Overall, I higly recommend this book as a great addition to your SB resources.

This is a beautiful book! I'm still fairly new to scrapbooking, and this book has given me some great ideas! Some of the projects are out of my ability at this point, but what possibilities!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful for someone that doesn't have the first 5 issue., June 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Scrapbooking with Memory Makers (Hardcover)
I loved the templates in the back of the book. I give this book 5 stars because the back issue of memory makers are hard to find. This book is a highlight of the first 5 (?) issues. I'm glad for the time saved searching for back issues. I think memory makers book is more for the intermediate scrapbooker and someone that doesn't have the back issues of the magazine.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good intro book (not for the experienced scrapbooker), June 30, 2000
This review is from: Scrapbooking with Memory Makers (Hardcover)
This book is a good intro into scrapbooking but if you have read this magazine for any length of time you will recognize many of the examples and much of the content.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but could be better ordered , & more informative, June 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Scrapbooking with Memory Makers (Hardcover)
I bought this because it had ads that it was for a beginner. It does help. It has some wonderful rulers in the back and an offer for a free copy of memory makers magazine. However, I think the book could have been organized a little better. There could have been much more information placed in this book. There were lots of nice pictures and ideas but not enought meat for me! Still glad I bought it. It has been a help.

I found the book very informative. It has all the basic information for the beginning scrapbooker. The layouts shown throughout are very nice. I just wish there was more information on how to create them. The templates and coupon for the free issue of Memory Makers Magazine were a great bonus.
