    From Booklist

And they keep coming--that is, books on the craft of preserving memories, rediscovered in the late 1980s after centuries of dormancy, which seems to continue its appeal. This new book underscore why this billion-dollar-plus industry increases its revenues, year after year.Count on Firefly to add more than a dollop of professionalism to any art or craft. In the hands of Beaman, capturing nostalgia and memories is an endeavor made permanent, with her emphasis on 100 techniques. Included in the categories are book binding, preparing photographs, creating text, and handling loose memorabilia, among a dozen-plus topics. Each is infused with a goodly sense of adherence to great graphic design principles as well as step-by-step color photographs. (How could, for instance, anyone argue with her statement to stick with one type or font?) The 25 projects highlight family memories, from vacations to romantic occasions, featuring, yes, a step-by-step format but, just as important, tips for choosing pictures. An elegant introduction to popular pictorial presentations. Barbara Jacobs

5.0 out of 5 stars Take scrapbooking to a higher level!, February 14, 2008

This review is from: Scrapbooking: 100 Techniques with 25 Projects Plus a Swipefile of Motifs and Mottoes (Paperback)
If you plan on taking scrapbooking to a higher level than the usual cut and paste, this book is for you. Plus, it is not for the beginner. It is for the very creative mind, the person who has that extra knack to be crafty and skillful.

Great ideas are here, and you will explore attaching memorabilia, pockets, buttons, tags, pennants, felts, cords, etc. You will learn stamping, embossing stitching, piercing and painting. I like the idea of photo mosaic.

Pages are colorful with complete instructions, ideas, examples. Included are templates, motifs, and mottoes.

The author, Sarah Beaman trained as a fashion designer and author of Complete Guide to Card Making and Fast Cards. This 2005 book is an excellent source to challenge yourself with scrapbooking. The ideas and pages demonstrated will be used for a long time. It is beautiful work....Rizzo
