The Scrapple Soundtrack features music from the independent film Scrapple. The cd includes original score music by blues legend Taj Mahal. The other songs by artists such as JJ Cale, Sam Bush, the Radiators, Widespread Panic, Jorma Kaukonen, Cymande, Toots Hibbert and Jonathan Edwards capture the slow-grooving roots sound that epitomizes ski towns.

My brother-in-law saw this film then sent me the CD for Christmas, knowing that I like blues, cool grooves, and a little bluegrass. This has it all. It's the perfect cd for a roadtrip, rafting down a river, raking leaves, whatever. Taj Mahal is amazing, of course, and he wrote new material just for the film which is about a guy who rides around Colorado with a pig on a motorcycle. The reggae "Sunshine on My Soul" is my favorite, but there is also a track by John Martyn that tells a gorgeous story. I'm so glad I have this CD- it's definitely feel-good music- I've already given it to 3 other people as gifts and they love it as much as I do. Buy it! You won't be sorry, I promise!

This soundtrack is like your favorite mix tape that you've tested on many a road trip.
Starting off with Sam Bush's (impressive) rendition of Little Feat's "Sailin' Shoes," to a nice continuous smattering of Taj Mahal, this album is littered with great artists and tunes primarily (but not exclusivly) from the '70s.
The brothers who wrote & directed this flick recently came out with the excellent Widespread Panic documentary "The Earth Will Swallow You" if that gives you an impression of the flavor of this soundtrack.

A friend of mine happened to know the guys who made this film and owned the soundtrack, which I fell in love without ever having seen the movie. The Taj Mahal and Jonathan Edwards tracks are incredible. If you've never seen the movie, it might be worthwhile for you to but the soundtrack is a MUST.

Only the Forrest Gump soundtrack can be considered against this Scrapple album for best artist & song collections of all time. Get this album, pop a cold one and picture yourself enjoying those Colorado mountains.
