Silly, but works!,
This review is from: Scratch Lounge (Misc.)
I agree that this is more or less a cardboard box, but really, have you shopped for cat stuff lately? $150 for scrap pieces of carpet stapled onto some plywood. Cat toy manufacturers are profiting from our inability to use a staple gun, not some incredible insights into the feline mind that only they possess. After buying scratching poles and mats and watching our cat stare at them blankly and then proceed to tear up the carpet anyways, I was willing to try this silly thing. We bought the Scratch Lounge yesterday, rubbed some catnip into it, and our cat loves it. Scratches it to death, sleeps in it, uses the sides to massage himself. All I wanted was for him to stop scratching the carpet, and now he scratches this instead. Victory.

My cat loves this box,

I have a very large Maine Coon Cat. She was ripping apart my furniture, the box spring on my brand new bed, the doorways, anything she could get her claws into. I tried many products with carpet, rope, cardboard, emery boxes and she ignored everything I purchased. I was contemplating having her declawed which I did not want to do, because my house and furniture wouldn't have survived. I love her, but she is big, rough, tough, and very playful. I purchased the first cat scratch lounger because of its size and it was my last desperate attempt to save her from the operation I was considering. It is big enough for her so I was hoping and praying she would get used to it.When I opened it and put it on the floor, she dove in and ripped, pulled, and rubbed until she fell asleep in it. I was shocked that she took to it so quickly and not only uses it for scratching, but it is now her favorite lounging spot. I have to replace it every three months, but I believe it is because of her size and strength. I have read that it lasts longer for other cats. Its center carboard piece is much thicker than the other brands and can be flipped over after it gets worn down. I love this product and more importantly my cat loves this box. It has saved my house and furniture, and I did not have to get her declawed. I highly recommend this product to anyone with cats, especially big cats. It is bigger and it is better constructed than any other boxes I looked at. I believe the higher sides are part of the attraction. Its more like a bed and she feels comfortable in it.

Best cat scratcher ever.,

We have had 5 cats in and out of our house over the last couple years since I discovered the Scratch Lounge, and every one of them is drawn to it like a moth to a flame. My ancient crotchety cat loved it as much as my current 12 week old kittens (and the foster kitties we took in temporarily loved it too!). You can flip the cardboard sections over to get double the use out of it.Best money I've spent on a scratcher, well, ever. They scratch on it, play on it, sleep on it, and just generally love it.
