5.0 out of 5 stars My cat loves this box
I have a very large Maine Coon Cat. She was ripping apart my furniture, the box spring on my brand new bed, the doorways, anything she could get her claws into. I tried many products with carpet, rope, cardboard, emery boxes and she ignored everything I purchased. I was contemplating having her declawed which I did not want to do, because my house and furniture wouldn't...

2.0 out of 5 stars Buy something less expensive.
$21 on Amazon, $25-$30 in brick and mortar stores is way too expensive. I think, by this point, they've paid off the graphic designer who came up with the great art for the box. Yes, my cats love to scratch on this. That is what earned it the second star.

But there are a gazillion, less expensive cardboard scratchers everywhere to get your cat away from...

5.0 out of 5 stars My cat loves this box, December 28, 2010

I have a very large Maine Coon Cat. She was ripping apart my furniture, the box spring on my brand new bed, the doorways, anything she could get her claws into. I tried many products with carpet, rope, cardboard, emery boxes and she ignored everything I purchased. I was contemplating having her declawed which I did not want to do, because my house and furniture wouldn't have survived. I love her, but she is big, rough, tough, and very playful. I purchased the first cat scratch lounger because of its size and it was my last desperate attempt to save her from the operation I was considering. It is big enough for her so I was hoping and praying she would get used to it.
When I opened it and put it on the floor, she dove in and ripped, pulled, and rubbed until she fell asleep in it. I was shocked that she took to it so quickly and not only uses it for scratching, but it is now her favorite lounging spot. I have to replace it every three months, but I believe it is because of her size and strength. I have read that it lasts longer for other cats. Its center carboard piece is much thicker than the other brands and can be flipped over after it gets worn down.
I love this product and more importantly my cat loves this box. It has saved my house and furniture, and I did not have to get her declawed. I highly recommend this product to anyone with cats, especially big cats. It is bigger and it is better constructed than any other boxes I looked at. I believe the higher sides are part of the attraction. Its more like a bed and she feels comfortable in it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Silly, but works!, July 18, 2010
This review is from: Scratch Lounge (Misc.)
I agree that this is more or less a cardboard box, but really, have you shopped for cat stuff lately? $150 for scrap pieces of carpet stapled onto some plywood. Cat toy manufacturers are profiting from our inability to use a staple gun, not some incredible insights into the feline mind that only they possess.

After buying scratching poles and mats and watching our cat stare at them blankly and then proceed to tear up the carpet anyways, I was willing to try this silly thing. We bought the Scratch Lounge yesterday, rubbed some catnip into it, and our cat loves it. Scratches it to death, sleeps in it, uses the sides to massage himself. All I wanted was for him to stop scratching the carpet, and now he scratches this instead. Victory.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best cat scratcher ever., September 14, 2010

We have had 5 cats in and out of our house over the last couple years since I discovered the Scratch Lounge, and every one of them is drawn to it like a moth to a flame. My ancient crotchety cat loved it as much as my current 12 week old kittens (and the foster kitties we took in temporarily loved it too!). You can flip the cardboard sections over to get double the use out of it.

Best money I've spent on a scratcher, well, ever. They scratch on it, play on it, sleep on it, and just generally love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnificent!, August 31, 2010

Stop what you're doing and buy this one now! =^..^=

When I brought Leo home from the humane society he immediately fell in love with this scratch bed. He uses it more as a bed than a scratcher although he does scratch it frequently too. If you are short on space this is a 2 in 1 product. Unlike other cardboard scratch pads I've bought before, this one endured 2 cats near constant use for 18 months before I replaced it just to get a less worn looking one for the house.

When Leo needs a safe place to hang out while I clean/move furniture/have nieces over this is where he retreats. The short walls on the side seem to give him a cave like feeling of security. Best cat product I've ever bought - worth every penny and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Out of the Box, July 16, 2008
This review is from: Scratch Lounge (Misc.)
I have had the cat scratcher out of the box for under an hour, and my two cats are already fighting over it! It's got a cute, classy look for a scratcher, and isn't too large but is bigger than any other scratcher i've seen available. The little raised sides seem to really add to the appeal for my kitties. So far I'm pleasantly surprised by the product and how my cats seem to just want to sit in it constantly! I received it promptly and and will order from [..] again! Thanks again Amazon. And kudos to the makers of the Cat Scratch Lounge.

5.0 out of 5 stars don't waste your time with other cardboard scratchers!, January 3, 2012

THIS. seriously, this. My cats already like cardboard scratchers, but the scratch lounge is a whole other world of scratchy goodness. It's just the right size for a cat to...wait for it...lounge on, and scratch to their heart's content when the mood arises. I've actually pondered getting a second one, it's so popular in my house.

This cardboard scratching pad is expensive compared to others, bit the Scratch Lounge is so much more for the money. My cat LIVES in his. He even uses it as a bed. It's sturdy and long-lasting, and he can scratch from every position without ever tipping over. It was such a hit with my cat that I bought 2 more for my friends' cats!

This lounger is seriously just a fancy cardboard box but I cannot believe how much my cat loves it! She uses this box for scratching, biting, lounging, and for hanging out. Basically, she now takes most of her destructive behavior out on this box instead of on my furniture, carpet, me, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Favorite Scratch Lounge Scratcher, March 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This Scratch Lounge is one of the best Scratcher I have ever purchased. It lasts very long and can be used two sides. Lounge size is big enough for my cats to play on, take nap, or roll over. It is the most favorite toy for both of my cats. I got one for each. Cats love them!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Animal rescue kitties love it., June 30, 2009
By
This review is from: Scratch Lounge (Misc.)
I operae an animal rescue and keep about 6 of them out. They always seem to be occupied. I have started selling them with almost all of my cat adoptions. The adoptive parents see how much the cats like the scratch lounge and want it for their new cat.
