The idea behind Scratch Map Travel Edition is that you can take it with you as you journey round the globe and scratch off where you've been on route - all you do is scratch off the gold top foil layer of the place you have visited to reveal a brand new and wonderful world underneath.
The Travel Edition Scratch Map also has some top tips on it. For example, did you know that Bulgarians shake their heads from side to side to mean 'yes' and nod up and down to say 'no'? Did you know that cutting down a cactus in America carries a twenty five year prison sentence? Perhaps think twice about bringing home a prickly present for someone. One of the other quirks the map has is sections where you can jot down the music you listened to, the best friend you made and the top 10 highlights. In short, the Scratch Map Travel Edition is brilliant.

My dad and his wife do a lot of travelling so I thought it would be a wonderful Christmas gift. The item came very quickly and was shipped in a really cool looking tube. My dad is very hard to shop for but this was a hit! They had never heard of scratch maps before and loved the idea of it. They LOVED the gift :). I recommend for anyone who enjoys travelling!

I am disappointed with this product because it came kind of crinkly (the paper). The outside container is really quite cool, and I liked that part. But the metallic part scratches off way too easily, so you'll have to be extremely careful and handle the map delicately if you buy this product. I know the map is supposed to be able to be carried with when traveling, but I would strongly suggest against doing so because it is too easy to scratch.

Small
I would go with the larger one, this one was small and sometimes it's hard to scratch of certain parts of the map. My roommate has a larger one and I think it's worth the extra. Read more

Very Trendy
Great piece of decorative art for the young professional. I put mine into an 11x17 frame and hung it on the wall. I get compliments all the time. Some trimming or folding required.
