Solid Music, Needs a little work,
By
This review is from: Scratch the Surface (Audio CD)
I really enjoyed the CD. It is a nice CD to have on at work, safe so you won't get fired for the lyrics but hard enough to make you feel alive.
After listening to the CD, I'll be keeping an eye on the band over the next couple of years. They sound similar to a lot of the acts out there, so a break or two and they could be a major headline act. I only had two complaints about the CD. At times the music over took the lead singer and make it hard to feel into the song. Another was that the beat of a couple of songs just didn't feel right. Neither were enough to stop me from listening, though. The cover art is amazing. Nice to see someone pay some attention to cover art, a dying art for CDs.

Great Find...,

Great CD, has that feel of a small club band before they get over managed and the music over processed. They still have that raw edge that is all to offen lost. The Cringe has the feel and creativity I look for when I want to get lost in my own work. When you are tired of lisening to the same old songs on the radio, The Cringe offers a new perspective and fresh sound.
