Book Description

Modern Templar knights battle the supernatural in this action-packed urban fantasy series!

Some things are just better left alone...

When a Jesuit priest wanders out of the New Mexico desert, telling wild stories about a secret research installation and bloodthirsty demons hunting through its halls, the Echo Team is called in to deal with the situation. Their orders - investigate the facility, determine exactly what happened there, and deal with any infernal presence that might exist.

But the being they encounter beneath the desert sands has found a way to break the bonds of Hell itself and doesn't plan on going back easily. This time, their foe might prove to be too much for even Cade and the men of Echo Team.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

This dark and gritty urban fantasy novel is 68,000 words in length and follows the first book in The Templar Chronicles series, THE HERETIC. While you don't have to read that book to understand the action in this one, I do recommend it for continuity's sake. :)

Due to subject matter, this series is recommended for mature readers.

A Scream of Angels is the perfect follow-up to the start of a great series - The Templar Chronicles. If you haven't read the first book titled "The Heretic", do yourself a favor and start there. A Scream of Angels is a great read on its own, but starting from the beginning of the series will give you the backstory about the main character, Commander Cade Williams of the mysterious Templar Order:

Book 1: The Heretic (The Templar Chronicles)

Cade's wife died tragically at the hands of a supernatural being called the Adversary, but despite her death, she continues to play a large role in his life. Cade's own unique abilities acquired from this same encounter have allowed him to follow his wife into another realm called The Beyond. His desperate hope to find her is both his strength and his weakness, and figures heavily in the main storyline - a mission to investigate an old military base in the desert. The first team sent to investigate was slaughtered by an unseen enemy, so the elite Echo team headed by Commander Williams is called into action.

The story takes on some interesting twists and turns, with plenty of mystery, horror, and action throughout. You won't be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars More Action Oriented Than Book One March 11, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
That's not necessarily a bad thing. However, I noticed book one had more mystery to it while this was more on the edge of your seat action. I really enjoyed it though and it was hard to put down. Made the mistake of reading it in my yard swing yesterday. Not sure how long I was reading, but I'm sunburned now. I really enjoy the background plot concerning the Adversary, while giving us a good story for the present also.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great promise March 11, 2012

I loved the story line, and think Commander Cade is powerful and attention grabbing. My only issue with the book was the number of mistakes in spelling/typos, that sort of thing. The storyline is excellent, and had really made me hurry to finish each book so I read the next. Really excellent ideas and writing. Just need better proof-reading..

5.0 out of 5 stars Action Packed Religious Thriller June 17, 2014

Scream of Angels is the second in the Templar Series. We find Cade and his Echo team once more called upon by the Catholic Church to fight the Adversary. The Adversary is known to Cade. It was the Adversary that killed his wife Gabrielle and left with scared and without sight on his left side. His eye can't see things in the human world but can see into the spiritual world.

We find that Gabrielle once again makes an appearance to Cade. He continues his search for her spirit.

Excellent series.

3.0 out of 5 stars Scream Of Angels April 8, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A very interesting read and a well written one as well. However, did not care for the curse words in a book about angels. I would like to read more about this unit of Templars and find out what happened to their leader when he went to find his deceased wife again, which is what you would expect to happen by the determined nature that the writer shows in the man. I hope that there is a Book 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Angels, Demons and the Knights Templar August 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good solid well written book. Loved it. I have all of them and they are all equally good.

Cade Williams is an ex-Boston Police officer. He was badly injured and his wife was killed by The Adversary. Along with killing his wife the adversary also gave Cade several powers.

His blind eye has the sight. This enables him to see demons. He also has the power to touch a body. If the body hasn't been dead for more that 48 hours he can follow the victims last hours. He always wears gloves so he isn't overwhelmed when he touched anyone who's alive.

Cade is now a Commander in the Knights Templar. The Knights Templar are the military arm of the Vatican. His squad, Echo, are the go to guys when things get tough.

They are assigned to go to an old military facility in the desert Southwest. Apparantly a team of Templars went in and only one badly wounded knight made it out. He died but his head cam gave his commander a glipse of what killed he and his team.

Cade isn't sure what he will find but he and Master Sargeant Riley, his number two, are more than ready to head down into the tunnels to see just what the hell is going on.

So starts one hell of a good story.

We have Cade and his men, one of whom, Duncan is a healer. He can heal anyone by simply laying hands them. Of course Duncan, the newest member of Echo, hasn't told anyone he has this ability but have it he does.

We also have a ground called Eden, who are the ones responsible for everything that happens.

We have demons, a fallen angel, loads of dead bodies and one heck of a leader in Commander Williams.

Just one solid good read Five Stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story but sloppy editing August 13, 2013
By E. King
Format:Kindle Edition
Like other reviewers, I enjoyed this book. Because Nassise is my first read in this genre, I don't have a lot to compare it with. However, the 'rush to publish' seems pretty evident as, particularly in the latter portion of the book, there are MANY misused words which seem to have occurred as a result of the work being dictated and then not proof-read. It's disappointing and really began to hamper my enjoyment. I'm starting on the third book and hope that I won't find the same problems.
