Ted Nugent - 'Scream Dream' (Sony),
By
This review is from: Scream Dream (Audio CD)
A semi-memorable catalog release, but certainly no classic.Originally released in 1980.It's okay as I've heard Ted do better. One factor about 'Scream Dream' is that Ted is now full time vocalist, taking over Derek St.Holme's job.I didn't mind it so much, but I've heard several fans state otherwise.Just basically decent Detroit-style hard rock with the better tracks being "Wango Tango","Hard As Nails","Violent Love","Spit It Out" and the somewhat funky "Terminus Eldorado".I saw Nugent out on this very tour with the Scorpions and Def Leppard as support acts.A show that I remember people talked about for many years to come.

A longtime fan of the Motor City Madman 07 15 99When Scream Dream was first released on vinyl,I purchased it without ever hearing a single song. Being a teenager in Saginaw Michigan that was just the right thing to do. I drove to my girlfriends house "now my wife" cranked the stereo up to 13 or at least we tried and Uncle Ted rocked us from start to finish. Every track on this album C D sorry was ROCKIN TED STYLE like no one else can do. I just couldn't leave this offering alone. Up to this point I was concerned that Michigans favorite Uncle would not top his first solo work Ted Nugent. Some may argue that Ted Nugent was his best solo work. I think Stranglehold is a total masterpiece from a mastermind. I enjoy both C D's a great deal. Having seen the Motor City Madman in concert many, many, many, many times the Scream Dream Tour was the very best of them all. Long after the crows be pickin at your flesh and YOU got know control of the SITIATION Scream Dream with all of its In your face Gonzo Madness will rock on forever..
