5.0 out of 5 stars Very different but very much worth it, October 15, 2001

This is a must-have for JPJ or those who collect Zeppelin material. This isnt the bone crushing rock n roll you expect but some good experimentation by Jonsey. With Jimmy Page on 2 tracks and Jon Anderson of Yes on 2 tracks, plus the bonus of Jones himself singing on tracks, I really enjoyed the various types of music on this. "Crackback" will remind you of the same hard hitting sound heard on Zep 4 while "Chilli Sauce" is all in the mind of Jones stepping away from Zeppelin and into his own. A sweet piece of work for sure and when you select this CD for the collection, dont forget to pick up "Zooma"also.

3.0 out of 5 stars 2 Great tracks with Jimmy Page, July 30, 1999

The casual Zep fan probabily won't like this album too much. However, if you're a fan of JPJ, this album is definately worth having. The two tracks with Zep-mate Jimmy Page, "Crackback" and "Spaghetti Junction" are awesome. Spaghetti Junction is resembles Booker T and the MG's "Glass Onion" with searing JP guitar. Crackback is played hard and fast in the style of Zep's "Black Dog" and holds its own against any Zeppelin Track. One one song, Jonesy sings and is accompanied on guitar by folk legend John Renbourne. For Yes fans, the album might be worth checking out since Jon Anderson joins JPJ on the track "Silver Train Arrived." Some tracks are very "80's" in a bad way, but some feature some pretty cool keyboard licks. On the whole album, the bass, of course, is terrific.

4.0 out of 5 stars JPJ Soundtrack -A Nice Piece, January 4, 2002

As has been said before. The best here for a Zeppelin fan would be to copy one of the 2- Page Tracks and add it to a compilation, and debate the quality of the second track forever. But this is as I said in my title, a very nice piece. The Madeline Bell vocal cuts are nice ballads. Other reviewers called them 80's-like but they are more like what you require in a soundtrack, and certainly tunes you might find yourself humming. The mix of performers and Jones' do-it-yourself accomplishments are what makes this piece stand out. He is all over the album -on some tracks playing all instruments and singing as well. Perhaps the album is better judged against similar one man-solo efforts by McCartney, Jason Faulkner and Todd Rundgren -not so much for musical similarity, but for ingenuity and skill.
