5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent.
This CD was totally worth the money. Beltrami has done it again. Though the small ammount of music in the tracks, (I believe that all 20 tracks add up to about a half-hour) the music is great, taking your from thrilling to sad to happy to downright scary. The only song I was disappointed in was GHOST ATTACKS. The thing I liked about Marco Beltrami's work was that...

3.0 out of 5 stars When will Marco learn?
I'm glad to see that this CD has 20 tracks on it, but that doesn't mean much if hardly any of them contain the music that matters the most. It's hard to tell by the titles of the tracks, but I doubt the score for when SIdney first encounters the killer is on the CD. That's the one I was looking for the most. Beltrami seems obsessed with tracks that are less memorable...

The thing I liked about Marco Beltrami's work was that his attack sequences were not just distorted trumpet bleats and frenetic jumbles of noise to symbolize chaos and commotion. But that is exactly what he did with this track. Though it has a minor melody to it, it is filled with ear-splitting trumpet blasts and is somewhat annoying in its frenticism. Could've been much better for one of the longest tracks on the album. But, aside from that little nit-pick, the rest of the scores were great and I loved them. I recommend this CD to every true Scream fan. Some of the highlights are Here We Go Again, DoppleGailer, All in the Family, and Sid Wears a Dress, along with many other good tracks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Scream 3 score review, March 3, 2000

This review is from: Scream 3: Music From The Dimension Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I bought the original Scream album, which was good but I was hoping for more of a musical/score type of cd instead of grunge rock. Well my friends, Scream fans can finally have their score with this cd. It has ever gut wrenching, startling piece of music from the original Scream plus the new music in Scream 3. The only reason this cd doesn't deserve a 5 star is that out of the 20 tracks listed on the album, only 4 or 5 of them last longer then 1:30. This disappoints a little but if your not looking at the track number you'd never know that a new track had started because it flows nicely into each new track. This cd will be great for spooky halloween music to scare the trick or treaters.

Beltrami seems obsessed with tracks that are less memorable. Why doesn't he just put every single portion of music from the movie onto this. Hell, that's what they did for The X-files score, almost. I still liked the CD though. I usually only listen to the attack tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marco beltrami is a Master, March 3, 2000
This review is from: Scream 3: Music From The Dimension Motion Picture (Audio CD)
After scoring Scream, Scream 2, Mimic, and somewhat contributing to Halloween H20, Marco Beltrami can officialy be named a master in scoring horror films. The originality is always there. From strong orchestration, choral moments, and tense beats, Beltrami supplies his fans with an outstanding cinema score released from Varese Sarabande. The CD is magnificent. There is only one complaint, and this goes for most of this companiy's titles, the length is too short. We only get thirty minutes of thrilling and haunting music. Scream fans will delight with adding this to their collection. It's much better than the official soundtrack. If you enjoyed the earlier CD, Scream and Scream 2: The Scores, then definately pick this up. And see the fabulous conclusion to the hit slasher trilogy that gives perfect closure. Buy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars "I'm talking about being scared!", June 11, 2000
This review is from: Scream 3: Music From The Dimension Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Looking for some creepy music? Pick the "Scream 3" score. It packs 20 frightening tracks from one of the year's best films. A downfall to the CD might be the fact that this CD is way too short. The disc runs only an estimated 35 minutes. Though missing a few essential scores, such as Sidney getting shot, the CD does send chills down your spine.
