5.0 out of 5 stars CLASSIC TONY MARTIN!!!!!
If you like the Black Sabbath albums with Tony Martin on vocals, you'll love this album. The man has really never made a bad album to date(i have them all). From his stuff with The Cage,Empires,Misha Calvin, just to name a few,he is consistant in his powerful vocals, plus he also plays the guitar, and on this new album,he plays the electric violin on the title track that's just...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not quite as good as I was hoping for
I liked Tony Martin in Sabbath, in fact Headless Cross and Cross Purposes are some of my favorite Black Sabbath cd's.

However this release doesn't really follow that path and for me that is somewhat of a disappointment. The songs are pretty good, but their just missing something overall. I don't now, maybe they sound to happy?

Tony's a great singer...

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!!, February 26, 2007
This review is from: Scream (Audio CD)
If your a fan of Tony Martin from his Black Sabbath days you'll really enjoy his solo cd SCREAM. His singing is just awesome on every song. I was really impressed that he also plays the drums, bass and even the violin on the cd. He sure has talent. Great guitar playing from his son Joe Harford. Geoff Nicholls on keyboards does a fantastic job. The song Raising Hell has the late great Cozy Powells on drums and is just great.Buy this cd today! You'll be amazed on such a GREAT cd that this is. Tony you ROCK!!!

Tony's a great singer and a fantastic lyricist, but this release is just average in my books especially because I know he can do so much more!

I'd rate it as average, really nothing to write home about here unfortunately.

Great CD. Melodic, heavy riffs, and Tony Martin classic macabre, nebulous lyrics. Great vocal harmonies. CD sounds a lot like his work in Black Sabbath, especially "Cross Purposes."

5.0 out of 5 stars A "MUST HAVE" CD for fans of Black Sabbath........., June 4, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Scream (Audio CD)
If you were a fan of the Tony Martin "era" of Black Sabbath and dearly miss the period where they were cranking out albums that sounded fresh and progressive, then do yourself a favor and pick up Tony Martin's "Scream", where Tony re-unites with Black Sabbath keyboardest Geoff Nichols to create this startling CD of Heavy Metal goodness that is EASILY better than "Forbidden" & "Cross Purposes", on par with TYR, and almost as good as "Headless Cross" or "Eternal Idol". Tony Martin seems to realize that his fan base is solidly established in the late-era Sabbath crowd, and this CD is tailor-made for all of those fans. Much better than Martins first 1992 solo album. You don't even have to wonder if this CD is worth your hard-earned cash.. buy it and place it between TYR and Cross Purposes. It's a classic.
One should also note that Tony Martin has about a DOZEN "post-sabbath" releases under various incarnations, usually working with various ex-Black Sabbath bandmates such as Neil Murray, Cozy Powell, Geoff Nichols, Bobby Rondinelli, etc., together in various groups such as Empire, Rondinelli, Misha Calvin, The Cage, Phenomenon, and The Giuntini Project, many of which pop up on amazon's "recommendations" page for Scream. So if you miss the Sabbath from the 90's, you need not just fondly remember the music.. track this NEW music down, you'll be glad you did. You've got lots of catching up to do!!

5.0 out of 5 stars it sounds like iommi and martin got back together, October 14, 2008
This review is from: Scream (Audio CD)
out of all tony martin's post sabbath albums this one sounds most like if iommi and martin were to get back together. it's heavy, melodic, soulful. and tony had a song cozy powell recorded (just cozy on drums) and martin has used that on the song rasin' hell. geoff nicholls on keyboards martin's son joe on guitar tony martin plays bass, violin, and drums on this. this is a great album and a must . while on tour for this album tony martin meet/spoke with iommi for the first time since 1995. it was at a music festival and it was big sabbath news.

5.0 out of 5 stars TONY MARTIN (EX- BLACK SABBATH VOCALIST) SOLO., November 16, 2007
This review is from: Scream (Audio CD)
TONY MARTIN TOTALLY DELIVERS ON THIS 2005 RELEASE OF THE ALBUM "SCREAM". APPARENTLY, THIS ALBUM DID QUITE WELL IN EUROPE AND HE TOURED SOME PRETTY BIG SHOWS IN SUPPORT OF THE ALBUM. UNFORTUNATELY, FOR ALL OF US IN THE U.S.A. WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SEE HIM LIVE. I BLAME THIS FACT DUE TO THE LACK OF INTEREST IN HEAVY METAL IN THE U.S.A. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH PEOPLE WOULD RATHER LISTEN TO GARBAGE LIKE RAP AND GANGSTER RAP WHERE IT SEEMS TO BE COOL TO SING ABOUT DOING NASTY THINGS TO WOMEN AND SHOOTING EACH OTHER. SUCH A SHAME.

IN FACT TONY ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE ON A TRACK CALLED "THE KIDS OF TODAY" ON THIS ALBUM.ON THIS DEBUT ALBUM SCREAM TONY MARTIN HAS SOME GOOD STANDARD ROCKING SONGS TO OPEN WITH THEN THERE ARE SOME SLOWER MORE DARK SOUNDING SONGS LIKE SCREAM, SURELY LOVE IS DEAD, WHERE EVER YOU GO, TO NAME A FEW. ALSO, TAKE NOTE ON THE FACT THAT TONY HIMSELF PLAYS A VIOLIN ON THE TITLE TRACK CALLED SCREAM. TONY MARTIN ALSO, PLAYED THE PIECE LIVE ON THE TOUR. TONY MARTIN IS JUST MORE THAN A VOCALIST THE MAN IS A TRUE GENIUS AND HIS MUSIC IS REALLY AN ART FORM TO BE RECKONED WITH.TONY MARTIN AS USUAL ALSO, DELIVERS SOME LYRICS WITH SOME PRETTY DEEP EMOTIONS AND SUBJECT MATTER TO IT. OVER THE YEARS TONY MARTIN HAS LOST NOTHING IN HIS VOCAL RANGE. HE STILL SOUNDS AS GOOD NOW AS HE DID ON HIS FIRST BLACK SABBATH ALBUM "THE ETERNAL IDOL".

I'D GIVE TEN STARS ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 10 ON THIS ALBUM HANDS DOWN.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buen disco, Excelente cantante, January 12, 2007
This review is from: Scream (Audio CD)
