5.0 out of 5 stars Mind Blowing Documentary. 10./10, February 5, 2008
By
This review is from: Screamers (DVD)
I have seen this movie on starz, I regret to say that I was not lucky enough to have watched it while the screening took place. This documentary follows the one and only System Of A Down, throughout several locations from LA to Europe, while diggin deep in history and showing the truth about the forgotten genocide. This movie includes interviews with experts and some of the survivors of the genocide. This sad story of human history also follows the massacre that took place in africa during 2004 while the whole world stood watching, idle in the face of massive death. To conclude this, several SOAD fans won't be dissapointed by the extensive repertoire of songs played throughout the film. I'm glad I'm finally getting the DVD after a long wait, I hope you feel the same way.

Great movie for fans of System of a Down. Better yet, this is a great movie documenting genocide in general, and the Armenian genocide in particular. I highly recommend this movie. It is a must see. Share the movie with friends, family, and members of your local community. Everyone will thank you for it. Very eye-opening experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE Armenian genocide film that best exposes the deniers (including the US government)., June 18, 2007
This review is from: Screamers (DVD)
Funny thing. This DVD is scheduled for release in the US and Canada on June 26. The Amazon Canada site is clear and definite about the details, but the Amazon US site has obscured all concrete info. "Release date to be announced: The release date for this DVD has not been finalized." Check out the different announcements. Why the disparity? Which is it?

5.0 out of 5 stars Hits you right in the gut., November 3, 2008

This review is from: Screamers (DVD)
Listening to Serj Tankian's grandfather recount the utterly horrific way his family was destroyed during the Armenian Genocide when he a little boy will keep you awake at night. And well it should. Watching Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert blow Serj off in the White House rotunda, as only a fatuous career politician can, will disgust you. And well it should. Buy two copies of this DVD - donate one to your local public library and make sure they put it on the shelf! Order a Spiral into Flames pendant - the proceeds go to making sure this DVD ends up in school libraries. If you have the time or the means, get involved any way you can to help stop genocide cold.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth about the Armenian Genocide, April 6, 2009

One of the best documentaries out there which clearly depicts the horrific massacre of 1.5 million Armenians during the years of 1913 to 1923 by the Ottoman Turks. The movie proves that without recognizing previous genocides it is hard to prevent future genocides. besides the Armenians Genocide, the movie also concentrates on the Genocide in Darfur; furthermore, strengthening the need to recognize and help people suffering. The movie is a must-see. i recommand it to everybody.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mind-opening documentary, April 19, 2008

I have been waiting to purchase this movie ever since it came out at the film festivals. I, being from Florida, have never been to an independent film festival but heard about this movie from System Of A Downs website. This gives a look at mainly the genocide of the Armenians by the Turks but also looks into the other genocides which have happened to which are happening right now. this movie gives accurate information about the subject but if you aren't into System Of A Downs music you will be forced to sit through their performances. After I recieved this movie in the mail I watched it with a bunch of class mates. This film makes an excellent discussion piece among young adults.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why the hold up?, September 1, 2007
This review is from: Screamers (DVD)
I saw this film @ webster place in chicago. It only played for one week. It was an amazing film that if anything might have pulled a couple punches. I applaud Garapedian and the boys of SOAD for exhibiting such an amazing piece of work. However, I am a bit worried about the state of this dvd. It had a release date scheduled in June. Now it is September and I can only fear someone's political, historical "beliefs" are to blame. It is past the point of "hey the dvd had some technical issues". There are probubly boxes of this dvd sitting in warehouse and all I wanna do is pop it in my home theatre and blast some of those amazing live concert scenes. And most importantly, there are people that need to see this film and I can't show it to them if I don't have a copy. MMMMMphhh.....frustrating.

In this turbulent time when the Turkish politicians are influencing the Israeli government and the most powerful Jewish organizations in the U.S. in attempt to convince the U.S. government not to recognize one of the horrors of the 20th century, this video is one of the most powerful weapons in the hands of the honest people. The shame must fall on the heads of those who put politics before human life! The shame must fall on the MS NBC with their disgustingly bias "vote". This video is for those who want to know the truth about Armenian Genocide.

This is good to watch for anyone, not only System of a Down fans. However, if you hate System of a Down, it might irritate you because it is the soundtrack of the movie with interviews and concert road footage galore. I really enjoyed this and recommend anyone over 18 to watch it.

I had never even heard about the Armenian Genecide until I became a fan of System of a Down. This documentary goes into more detail about that horrific genecide along with how governments cover up genecides worldwide to this day:o( It's not for the faint of heart... lots of graphic images, but I think it's needed to show the horror of what continues to go on in the world today:o(It's a very moving film that will enlighten you.
