5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Classic - Must Have CD, March 27, 2010

Big Youth at his best on some of the hardest riddims ever produced in the 40+ year history of reggae. This is one of the foundation albums of reggae - a must-have classic.

BUY IT AND YOU'LL HAVE NO REGRETS!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Enough screaming, April 12, 2010

I really like this record. The songs are very catchy with a cool heavy sound. I could do without the screaming, its actually pretty annoying. Overall this record is right up there with the classics for me. A good addition to anyones collection.

Blame it on da Youth! Everybody say that he is the Grandpappy of Rap. Yep, I can hear it in his boastful toasts. No duds in the extra dubs either.

Alright...Das Racists didn't appreciate my bad puns...Depending on what Reggae historian you read, either Big Youth or Dillinger were the prototype for the American Rap model. Maybe it was all the above. I do not know, I am here to review Big Youth's record Screaming Target, not to take Rap's illegitimate daddy to court. Although, here are a few truths that are not disputed- Big Youth coined the phrase, "Natty Dread" and was the first Rasta to flash his locks up on stage.

That and he is a massive influence on Miami hip-hopper rude bwoy Tafari. How do I know this ? Check out father and son...[...]

4.0 out of 5 stars Bored and wanted to wash my dishes on a Sunny Day, December 1, 2006
This review is from: Screaming Target (Audio CD)
So I woke up and put this in.....the screams in the beginning of the song scared my neighbor, which indicated I made the correct choice. Automatically puts any reggae fan in a good mood with that first track. In fact, I liked it so much I decided to review it, and let you know this is good, upbeat, clean your house on a sunny December morning music.
