3.0 out of 5 stars Debut Weasel
Screeching Weasel has been one of my favorite band for years. Probally the only other bands I've listened to longer was Greenday and The Queers. S.W were around for a long time, from 1987-88,91-01. They released so many great pop-punk records. My Brain Hurts and Bark Like a Dog are their best.

This record is really not that bad, honest. The first 27 songs are their bebut album. There loud and fast. Most of songs are only like 45 seconds long. All the songs pretty much sound the same. These songs are what you expect for a 19 year-old to write about. The tracks 28-39 are demo's from their next record boogodaboogadaboogada!

1.0 out of 5 stars WARNING, April 10, 2007
This review is from: Screeching Weasel (Audio CD)
As much as I love S.W., I can't in good conscience allow anyone to buy this album thinking that there will be GOOD music on it. If you're a collector, go ahead. Otherwise, the only song worth having is "Murder in the Brady House", and you can hear a MUCH better version on THE QUEERS' "Later Days and Better Lays".

5.0 out of 5 stars Some people just dont understand punk..., April 23, 2006

Hate major studios and how they have made punk into a teendream sundae with a popped cherry on top? Want to kick people who like Led Zepplin in the @ss and make them cry? Well then buy this album and anything else by SW, DK, NOFX, and avoid anything by a major label.

As a rude boy(which, for those who dont know is a fan of ska music), and also a fan of punk and classic rock i have to say that screeching weasel shames all music. I hate Led Zeppelin is the worst song i have ever heard in my entire life and with Zeppelin being my favorite band i was appalled. Also, as a drummer, the line "John Bonham kinda sucked" is quite hypocritical because the cottage cheese in my refridgerator has more talent on the skins than the drummer from weasel. Id like to challenge that dude to a drum off, any money says i can beat him. The singer has no talent at all and should be beaten for wasting all of our time. The guitar sucks and you cant hear the bass at all. I rip on I hate Led Zeppelin most because it is the worst, but dont go saying that thats the only song i heard. I gave them a fair chance and listened to the whole album, and it just kept sucking and sucking. The band formed after the singer saw his first Ramones concert because he liked them and wanted to start a band like them. Ha, these guys are nothing compared to the Ramones. I suggest that if you want real music that you go pick up a Zeppelin cd. If your more into punk, like these guys "claim" to be, go check out Tsunami Bomb, Angry Amputees, Dropkick Murphys, The Offspring, and Less Than Jake. Its just too bad that you cant give 0 stars
