Last week I dropped my phone and the LCD was fine but the digitizer glass was totally spiderweb-cracked. After receiving this product (in 2 days), I spent an hour installing using the guide from [...]. For tools, I used a T5 Torx screwdriver I bought from Home Depot/OSH for $3 and a Drivers License instead of an "safe pry tool" to pry open the frame (you also need a micro Phillips head for 1 screw). Anyhow, the new digitizer works PERFECTLY, no screen issues and the touch is perfect. Anyone who gives a low review must have received a lemon product, isn't very good with tools, or cannot follow directions.

I promise this is great product and is relatively easy to install if you can follow direction. I saved $80+ versus doing an insurance claim. Love this!!!

I wanted to start with an observation. It appears that some reviews for HTC EVO digitizers are being jumbled in with reviews for HTC EVO LCD replacements. Several reviews I read mentioned a narrow or wide ribbon connector, which appears to apply to the LCD screen. I couldn't find any idication that there are 2 different width ribbon connectors for the digitizer specifically.
This review is specifically for a digitizer ONLY, that I purchased from BestDealUSA.

The product arrived in a bubble-wrap sleeve, which was inside of a small cardboard box, which was inside of a bubble-wrap mailer envelope. The cardboard box was somewhat crushed but the dual-layer of bubble wrap (mailer envelope and around the product) did its job and the digitizer was in perfect shape. It was further protected from scratching with clear plastic film on both sides of the glass plus it was in a clear plastic sleeve. Great packaging!
It arrived promptly (in only a few days) which was the biggest reason I chose a USA distributor over some of the slightly cheaper units that ship from Hong Kong. I wanted to fix my phone as quick as possible. Great shipping!
As for the product itself. It appears to be identical in appearance to the stock digitizer. It fit perfectly. The ribbon cable was the correct width. The ribbon cable had adhesive to stick it in place. Great fit!
The "feel" of the digitizer seems a little less smooth than I was accustomed to on the stock digitizer but I used a screen protector on the stock one, which I haven't installed on the replacement one yet, so that might account for the difference.
It seems like it's just the slightest bit "cloudy" or maybe "dimmer" but that could totally be an anecdotal comparison of memory.

Dropped phone and HTC EVO 4G Glass shattered. Store would not repair so I undertook project with youtube help. I ordered glass for under $20 and now phone looks and works like new. Excellent product.

The vendor has been fine to work with, I ordered the part and received it in two days. The issue I have is that the part itself had dead spots making my Evo unusable given that one of the dead spots was over a key I need to enter my phone unlock password. I am now waiting for a replacement for the replacement. Other reviews seem to support the hit or miss quality of the product itself. For some people, it works fine, for many like me, it doesn't. I will update this review after I receive my exchanged part. Hopefully the second time will be the charm.

*edit* The second replacement I received worked great.

Ordered the digitizer on a Thursday and received it the following Monday. The replacement took roughly 30 - 45 minutes, most of the time was spent double checking a video tutorial and cleaning the LCD to prevent dust and fingerprints from being trapped between the LCD and digitizer.

Issues:
Behind the home/menu/back/search buttons on the original digitizer are little plastic optic pieces that direct the light from LED's that are meant to illuminate the buttons. I personally did not put them on the new digitizer but all you would need is a small square of double sided scotch tape and you'll be golden. Other than that the digitizer dropped perfectly in place.

BEAR IN MIND that this item DOES NOT come with any tools or adhesives for the digitizer like some other items do. Really all you need is the appropriate sized torx and phillips head screwdrivers, a sharp knife and a steady hand to remove the old digitizer and reassemble the phone. I ended up reusing the adhesive from the original digitizer without any ill effects.

ALSO BEAR IN MIND to remove the protective film from the back of the digitizer before installation.

Overall this product is a perfect replacement, if only it didn't cost more to have it shipped to my house than it did for the actual item.

Like many of the other reviews it goes without saying that because of dropping the phone the screen broke. When the screen arrived it had the original plastic that comes from the manufacturer with the sprint logo and name covered by a magic marker(this is not a problem because the logo is embedded in the glass) following directions that were found on the Internet. I managed to instal the screen in about twenty minutes. Here is where the problems begin first you have to get the double sided tape to go with this. Second and most important is the screen after about two weeks of using it started to make random decisions about where I was pressing on it. I got fed up with it and took it to the sprint store where they said that I had a defective screen. So to all of you who have had a good experience with this item sweet but from now on I'm going to just bite the bullet and file a claim it's not worth the frustration.
