More Hit Than Myth,
By Col. Mustard (The Drawing Room) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Screening the Beatles Myth: Movies, Documentaries, Spoofs and Cartoons (Paperback)
A worthy addition to any Beatles library, this appears to be a self-published thesis, comprehensively covering every major film produced by or about The Beatles -- promotional films and biopics included. It's stronger on fact and detail than true insight, so if it's the "Myth" part you're interested in, then you're better served by McKinney's Magic Circles or Stark's Meet The Beatles. But if it's "Movies, Documentaries, Spoofs and Cartoons" that attracts you, then it fills the gaps nicely around Neaverson's The Beatles Movies and Axelrod's Beatletoons and is worth picking up. |
