From the Manufacturer

In the past, Elite Screens' VMAX electric projector screen has been one of the most affordable ways for anyone to bring a quality retractable electric screen into their office presentation or home theater room. It comes out of the box fully assembled, ready to plug and play, has black masking borders, adjustable drop/rise positioning and IR/RF remote controls along with a detachable 3-way wall box as standard features. The V2 takes it up a notch by adding a few new features that enhance both the cosmetic and mechanical capabilities of the VMAX screen. A 12v trigger is also included to coordinate the screen's drop/rise position with the projector's power cycles. On the occasion where you cannot use a 12v trigger and want to eliminate the wall box from sight, an infrared "Eye" receiver is now also included.

Customer Reviews

Motor is very quiet.

Again, this will make no difference to most... just measure each screen if you are fitting to extremely tight tolerances.

It actually comes with a manual switch, an IR remote and a RF remote so you can choose which to use.

I bought this screen along with the Optoma HD20 High Definition 1080p DLP Home Theater Projector (Grey) for my home theater and it shows a fabulous picture.

Out of the box it was well assembled and the only thing required of me were my own mounting screws. I was pleased to see an RF and IR remote included for operating the screen as well as the optional wall mount switch with an optional 12V toggle.

Installation was simple, my friend and I mounted it to wall studs and finished in about 30 minutes. Like I said, all you need to buy are your choice of mounting screws as the case ships fully assembled and ready to mount. It takes about 40 seconds for the screen to completely lower or raise up. This is by design since this isn't a tensioned screen. If the motor were too fast, the screen might get folded up during rolling and cause a nasty crease or wrinkle like a window shade that went up too fast. The slow retraction makes sure this doesn't happen. This doesn't bother me anyway because it takes me longer than that to warm up the projector and find a Blu-Ray to watch. The electric motor is very quiet too as a bonus.

The quality of the screen material was astounding. I had heard some users having wrinkled screens but my screen turned out nice and smooth. Colors and blacks turn out nicely on it when watching movies. Let me tell you also, 150 inches of real-estate looks flat-out beautiful. Words cannot describe it.

I have to give this a 5-star rating because it exceeded what my original expectations were and has really enhanced my home theater experience for a really good price. Good luck.

These screens are fantastic... the value for the money is incredible. I've had several over the years, and especially glad to have one in white now, to match the ceiling and go "low profile".

Hilights:
**Motorized feature is great for the "wow" factor when friends visit... saves you the hassle of yanking down a screen (and perhaps yanking it out of the ceiling if something catches).

**The image on screen is MUCH better than projected on a wall. I projected on white walls for years and was dumbfounded what I had been missing by not using a screen. If you're projecting on a wall, GET A SCREEN!

**The remotes are line of sight, so be aware of this when mounting. The screen does come with a little IR extender, but it's not the greatest design.

**The price for a screen this size is unheard of in the industry. It's an incredible deal, especially when coupled with a 1080p projector and bluray... you'll be blown away.

**Customer Services is AWESOME. They heard about my troubles out of the box (see below) and sent me a new screen, only asking for a section of the "old" screen to be cut out and sent in with the remotes. They sent the replacement via courrier at their expense. THAT is excellent customer service.

LowPoints:
**The screen brackets were bent out of the box... I had to bend back to get it to line up correctly and the powder-coated paint chipped off where the bends were. Not a huge deal, but lame for a brand-new out of the box experience.

**The screen had some white 'fingerprints' that were, while feint, still surprising to see... Someone in the factory obviously handled it while it was not dry or something... BUT as I mentioned above, the company made good.

Color Name: White CaseSize Name: 16:9, 120-inch, 24" Drop
I initiatly spent three weeks looking for the perfect screen in my budget(under $400). I wanted an electric screen with a size of atleast 92". After looking around, I found that with my budget it would be very tough to find something to my liking. I then found the Elite V-Max. It boasts a huge 101" 16:9 screen, perfect for HDTV. At the price it was going for, I could not resist. I quickly ordered and three days later it was at my door.

When I saw it for the first time I couldn't belive how long it was. The box it was shipped in had to be over 100"(8.3ft) long. I did not like the way it was package it the box. There were just four little peices of styfo foam supporting the screen. The product did arrive in great shape, so that might be sufficent enough. Once I had the product out of box, I quickly mounted it on the wall of my new home theater room. This screen is very heavy and ackward, so a second person is a must. The wiring for the screen is very simple. A five foot single wire connects to the top right of the metal casing with a simple locking connector. The controller box then plugs into that and has about a seven foot cord to plug into the wall.

The screen takes about thirty seconds to come fully down, but most projectors take about a minute to warm up, so this is not a problem. There is also a way to adjust the screen stopping distance, but I have not had to use it. The 18" black header is also nice so you don't get destracted to the ceiling. The fabric of the screen also seems to be made of a nice thick high quality material, which can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Some things to consider with this large of screen is the size of it. The screen width itself is 91" wide. You do need a good size wall to place it on.
