An excellent invention!,

Upon stripping a scew on some new door hardware, I thought I would have to call a locksmith to remove the damaged head and re-align the lock. I went out and purchased this for 20 dollars from a local hardware store, and successfully removed the screw and the lock after only 2 minutes or so. This bit actually makes new, clean threads in the head of the damaged screw, and then locks into the new threads, thus pulling it out.a fantastic investement on my behalf. Great price too. Everyone should have a set!

I saw this demonstrated on "Ron Haselton's House Calls " on PBS& decided then & there that it was definitely a tool I needed. Have only used it once but it definitely confirmed my expectations, that is an answer for removing screws. Thank you Scroller57@frontiernet.net

I've used this on dozens of deck screws and on several nasty, rusted old screws on my boat trailer, and now I'd never be without it. So far it's removed everything I've tried it with.I've seen several negative reviews here, and I can't help but wonder if they were running the drill the wrong direction. Either that, or they were using it on a screw or bolt that was rusted into a metal object to an extraordinary degree. I can imagine a screw rusted into some metal device that just isn't going to come out with this or anything else, no matter what. I've been fiddling with tools for 50 years, and I think this is the best damaged-screw removal tool possible -- not a magic bullet that'll do 100% of your problems, but probably 99%. It more than pays for itself the first time you use it.
