IF YOU ARE IN THE MOOD FOR A STORY OF UTTER HILARITY AND LAUGH OUT LOUD HUMOR-THEN SCREWBALLS IS THE ONE FOR YOU. IT IS THE TALE OF A LAST PLACE BASEBALL TEAM REVITALIZED BY AN NO NONESENSE MANAGER AND AN ECLECTIC GROUP OF MISFITS. IT FOLLOWS THEM THRU A SEASON THAT THEY AND YOU THE READER WILL NEVER FORGET. I HIGHLY RECOMEND ALL MR. CRONLEY'S NOVELS BUT THIS IS HIS ABSOLUTE FUNNIEST.

5.0 out of 5 stars A hillarious game about baseball, READ IT!!!!!!!!!, May 18, 1999

This review is from: Screwballs (Paperback)
Screwballs is a fun filled story about a major league baseball team, though this is not an ordinary team. On this team you never know what will happen in the dugout. The manager of the team, Wilbur Moss, trys to find a way to turn these "screwballs" into winners. Some of the players include: Sammy Land, a hotshot outfielder that gets paid too run laps during practice. Golden Rule, the over weight pitcher that can never seem to get enough food. Dustin Mulebach, a rookie pitcher who throws hard but has no control. Arnette Blackwelder who has the unofficial record for the hundred yard dash, set when his wife came on the field to hunt him down with a gun. Yako Matsudo, who hit ninety-five home runs in Japan, but would have trouble making contact with a beachball in the states. Edgar, the hard working catcher who seems to enjoy pain. Together these players and a manager will embark on a crazy season, trying to win the pennant. They will also give baseball a whole new name. This book is for you if you love the game of baseball and enjoy humorous books. I strongly recomend the book for anyone between the age of 12 to 130.
