Have you listened to 'Safe as milk' lately? If you have, you'll notice that it hasnt lost any of the funky-blues steam that it carried the day it came off the pressing plant. This young band, who sound nothing like Lou Reed, are just as funky as beefheart himself, and possibly even more raw. They're really a band to watch out for because they're creating music as urgent as anything on nuggets, with much better, and wittier, lyrics. Also, how many bands do you know who name check Peter Laughner?
