The World's Best Corkscrew,
By
This review is from: Screwpull S1115-31 Pocket Corkscrew, Black (Kitchen)
I received this corkscrew in green about 15 years ago, and it has not given us one bit of trouble in all that time. It is the most amazing device -- flawlessly designed and excellent at extracting corks. It's lightweight (won't chip a counter or tile floor if it falls) and streamlined to take up very little space in a kitchen drawer. After 15 years, and many bottles of wine, a crack has finally made it become wobbly (but still working). I came on the website today, to get a new one, in anticipation of its eventual demise. I couldn't bear the thought of opening wine without it. Buy this corkscrew -- its a wonderful gadget.

My six month up date is actually 13 months. This little beauty is still pulling. All kinds of corks from all over the world , including the plastic type, just keep gliding out with very little effort. Italian Pinot Grigo have the densest corks and are very difficult to pull with any other corkscrew. Not a problem for this one, its just another cork. As for my "flimsy plastic" comment below, this hasn't shown any wear at all. Really amazing when you see the lack of quality in manufacturing today. TEN STARS
PS They have a 4 for $ of 3 offer {May 08} so I've ordered extra for gifts. The box arrived, my new 5 star cork puller....YES!! OH NO!! This light weight piece of flimsy plastic won't survive the first cork. What happened, the reviews are always dead on. Don't let its looks fool you. Not only does it hold up, you'll use more muscle opening a screw cap. Gently turn the handle and the cork glides out so smoothly you don't know its out unless you hear the pop. Turn the handle back and the screw glides out of the cork. I've opened more than 16 bottles and it has not damaged or shredded one cork. No more floating bits in the wine and the cork is still usable. Over the years I've owned and thrown a dozen or more corkscrews, cork pullers, wine openers; by what ever name; and this is the very best by far. I'll up date this in 6 months.

If you can't open a bottle of wine with this corkscrew, you shouldn't be drinking.,

This is by far the simplest method of extracting a cork from a bottle. I gave one
to an elder relative who is proud of his complete lack of any physical skills. He loved it. All you do is turn a crank in one direction. That one clockwise motion extracts the cork, ruptures the capsule and then removes the cork from the worm. The device itself is as well-made as any plastic thing can be. The worm is coated for easy in-out. The Screwpull is bulky: a handi- cap in a pocket, but no problem in a drawer. There is a full discussion of its ' a tiny treatise on cork-removal and a clearer illustration at the Amazon page for The New Short Course in Wine. In a few years, corks will be a rarity but in the meantime, Screwpull is the easiest device for cork-pulling. --Lynn Hoffman, author of New Short Course in Wine,The and bang BANG: A Novel ISBN 9781601640005

This is the more portable size of two offered by the same manufacturer. After many bottles of wine, we have never destroyed a cork or had the least difficulty pulling a cork. I have tried virtually every other style available and nothing comes remotely close to the simplicity and ease of use.

We needed to replace our Metrokane corkscrew that cost in the $130s. I didn't think a corkscrew this inexpensive could be so effective. In fact, when I brought it out of the box, my husband said, "It feels cheap." It is plastic, but don't underestimate its effectiveness. It opens bottles with the greatest of ease. It is easy to use and work, and it is a compact corkscrew, taking up a fraction of the space in the drawer that my Metrokane did. I have opened a lot of bottles with this since getting it a few months ago, and I am STILL impressed. It even has a foil cutter built in on the side. No more expensive corkscrews for me! Get this, you will not be disappointed.

Beware of synthetic corks,

This review is from: Screwpull S1115-31 Pocket Corkscrew, Black (Kitchen)
This is my favorite corkscrew that has lasted me about 15 years. I have other rabbit-like wine openers that also work great but this portable one is so much easier to grab, pop on the bottle, twirl with one finger and...it's open!
Alas, one stubborn synthetic "cork" only let the worm in halfway and held on so tight that now the top of the worm just spins in its plastic housing. I was bummed! Oh well, lesson learned. Use the rabbits for the plastic corks. And pick up another pocket Screwpull quick before they discontinue it!

This is one of the best, easiest and cleanest cork screws I have ever used. I've had them all from electric to the little cheap dollar ones.We had recently attended a 3 week course on wine appreciation and our instructor was using this type of wine opener for the class. It came highly recommended by him after 50 plus years in the wine business. This is by far the best money I've spent on a cork puller.

Easy To Use,
This review is from: Screwpull S1115-31 Pocket Corkscrew, Black (Kitchen)
This is an incredibly easy corkscrew to use, even if you don't have a strong grip in your hands. The other thing I like about this corkscrew is that it is small, compact and easy to take along if you are going on a picnic or somewhere you won't have a corkscrew. This corkscrew works fantastic on the synthetic corks that some corkscrews don't pierce easily.

This is the absolute best wine opener I have ever owned. I can no longer find them in stores anymore, so I had to search on line. My product arrived quite quickly. I bought an extra one in case I wanted to give one away.

I really love this corkscrew. It works great and despite being made of very lightweight plastic, I think it'll hold up well. The mechanism for extracting the cork puts very little stress on the corkscrew and that should ensure a long life.
