I stumbled across this item by chance during holiday shopping and thought it would be a great way for my son to stay in touch with his aunt who lives several states away. At age 6, he's not quite ready for writing or emailing, but he is super interested in drawing. We have several of the larger doodle books (The Boys' Doodle Book: Amazing Pictures to Complete and Create)and all have been a big hit.
This small 4x6 sized book contains 30 pages of postcards. Each has a spot for mailing address/return address/stamp on the front; and on the back has a guided drawing idea. The card stock is sturdy enough for the postcard to travel safely through the mail. Some of the guided drawing ideas include: a picture of a child holding a leash with the caption 'what kind of pet does he/she have?'; a picture of an animal with the caption 'I have something to say'; a picture of a frying pan with the caption 'what's cooking?'.... We gave this as a gift with a book of stamps. We bring it to restaurants with us and my son happily doodles away all kinds of pictures and messages to his aunt. Then we pop them in the mail and send them on their way. Love this idea.

Absolutely adorable post cards! My kids write notes, color & add pictures onto the card, then send it to their Aunt who lives far away.

I was pleasantly suprised when I received this item in the mail. It is a great, quality item. Pages are just like post-card material. Very thick and heavy. Easy to pull out. My son will thoroughly enjoy using this to write his friends and grandparents! I highly recommend this for anyone with school age kids who love to write, color, and stay in contact with out of town friends and family!

These postcards are fun for people of all ages. You can scribble, doodle, or sketch a little or a lot on the postcards. Makes a fun, fast correspondence and it is a pure pleasure to receive real mail in the mailbox on the front porch. Make it colorful by using gel pens or colored pencils for your sketches or incorporate stickers into your artwork. This would be a great project for kids over the summer because they could practice their handwriting (or printing)skills and develop their creativity, reading, English skills too in the messages they send on the flip side of the postcard. Plus it will give them a few minutes of a "tech vacation" (going without the computer/cell phone and all electronic gadgets for a few minutes or a day). They can surprise their grandparents, friends and other family by sending out these postcards over the summer. Each postcard has a very simple object on it and instructions about what you are supposed to scribble or draw. Make it as simple or detailed of a picture as you wish. Enjoy!
