Journalist - Scribes Of Life,

The production on this cd alright, it could of been better. Other than that this album is tight, Journalist is a good lyricist. Journalist is better than a lot of the commercial rappers. If you like Canibus go out and get this cd. I can't wait til the next Journalist CD.

Better than most commercial artist,

journalist is really good because he doesent try to be commerical like Nelly or Ja rule. He does rap because he loves it, not because of moneu. Another thing that I like about him is he can flow forever, such as a minute or longer. Everyone likes that song oh boy by camron, but if u havent notice he only flows for 5 seconds at the most each time. Journalist can flow 20-25 times longer than canron can flow. Who is the better MC here, let me guess, Journalist. Listen to his lyrics to, journalist doesnt just flow about nothing but he has some meaning to his lyrics just like nas does to his lyrics.

Don't sleep... this is a dope album. Strong flow, solid production, etc. I agree with the other reviewers saying that this is better than what you hear now-a-days. Pick it up & add it to your collection.

Yea the production might not be up there, but Journalist is getting a good start in the game. Working with the legendary M.O.P. and one of the best rap artist of all time, Canibus, Journalist will be here to stay. It took a few listens to get use to this album. He's a good lyricist, better than some of these cats. If you want to hear somethin' different, pic this 1 up.

No, Ja Rule and Nelly are why rap music is dying,

Maybe the production isn't the best but Journalist can FLOW! If you can't respect lines like "I'm sweeter than the bottom of your Kool-Aid pitcher", then you don't know how real hip hop is supposed to sound.

I heard Journalist on Canibus 2000b.c. Like most people. Journalist has a very good flow, very good lyrics, and he puts commercial rap to shame with this cd. It is the best cd of 2002 easily. I recomend anyone buys it, no need to hear it first, its that good.

Scribes of Life,

Journalist, a new artist out of Philadelphia has created an excellent album without much publicity. An interesting flow, (They call me Journalist/So your hate is permanent/But I'm not concerned with it), one somewhat like rapper Eminem, compliments the beats of an album Exec. Produced by Dr. J (Erving). Though his name suggests a sort of storyteller Nas-type album, much of it is just simple gangsta/ice rap, but with a new twist, which is what makes this album work so well. The GREAT instrumentals will make almost any listener enjoy. Hopefully, what Journalist says is true "When it comes to the throne, homes, you just holding my seat"

This Is Why Rap Music Is Dying!,

"Scribes of Life" is at best a mediocre album. The production is not what people are hyping it up to be(Dr. J is a producer now.... come on!!!). The themes of the songs are so cliche, it seems like you are listening to an old school record. The lyrics... I don't really have to comment. His only claim to fame is appearing on Cannibus' album. Yeah, that's something to brag about. BOTTOM LINE: Don't buy it.
