I enjoyed reading Your Best Life Now, being especially impressed by the combination of Christian Gospel and modern psychology. Having introduced my wife to Joel Osteen through listening to one of his television sermons, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a copy of this book from my wife as a Christmas gift. It was most welcome, and I treasure the book even more now that I've spent a week with it.

The book has seven parts, each one being about the right length for a nice Bible study in the morning or evening. Here are the seven parts:

1. Enlarge Your Vision
2. Develop a Healthy Self-Image
3. Discover the Power of Your Thoughts and Words
4. Let Go of the Past
5. Find Strength Through Adversity
6. Live to Give
7. Choose to Be Happy

Now, who wouldn't like to do better in those seven dimensions?

The book has an amazing design. One facing page will have a gorgeous photograph from nature or of a person (or people) with Scripture printed on the least interesting part of the image. The other facing page will have a brief text (a short of mini sermon) that develops one sub point for that part. For instance, page 18 has a brooding sunset over an island with dark water in the foreground. The two quotes on that image are:

"Everything is possible for him who believes." -- Mark 9:23
"It shall be done to you according to your faith." -- Matthew 9:29

The text page (19) addresses "With God on Your Side" as its subject. The text ends with the conclusion: "Eliminate a barely-get-by mentality and let God's seed take root."

If you liked Your Best Life Now, you'll treasure this book as a great way to stay in touch with those messages and thoughts.

If you haven't read Your Best Life Now and don't like to read full-length books, this book is a fine and beautiful substitute for you.

Although I would consider myself more spiritual, rather than religious, I think Joel does an excellent job focusing on scripture and thoughts for the day. I read this daily---sometimes more than one thought as they are themed by chapters. I love his light, uplifting thoughts. I always seem to read the verse that is appropriate for the day. Great book, that is wonderful in bite sized pieces so as to process the thoughts thoroughly. I would highly recommend this book for someone looking for uplifting thoughts with a biblical basis.

I have YBLN book and workbook also, but this book is great for anyone who doesn't like to or can't find time to read. The illustrations are beautiful and in just a few minutes you can read a message that you can carry with you through the day. I would like to buy one for all of my friends and family.

Wonderful book, full of inspiration to help anyone in every day life and to realize what truly is important in life!

This is the perfect little book to give to a friend or loved one who needs a little inspiration. It is light and refreshing and each page has beautiful pictures along with a topic and accompanying scripture. Short and sweet messages are touching without being "preachy".

It covers a wide range of topics and you can choose something meaningful to you at the moment, then get a bit of wisdom to carry throughout the day, or contemplate at bedtime.

I have read and re-read mine, often simply opening it up to see what is in store for me on a random page, many times finding it is perfectly appropriate to something I am experiencing....since all the messages are truly relevant to today's world.

I would suggest you get one for yourself and as a gift, too.

I was looking for a book that could help me with easy-to-understand writings to help with bible study. This book is beautifully written with lovely pictures and is very user friendly. It helps get me through my days, as I get depressed sometimes, and is hard to put down once you start reading it.

I read this every morning before getting real busy and it's a quick "lift me up" for the day and food for thought.

I had read the full version of this book a while back and then was given this shortened copy as a gift just before I went on vacation. What great timing!! This book made the trip. It taught me to appreciate what I had, not what I wanted to have. That sounds so simple, but was a new idea to me. It changed my whole perspective on things--just by changing the way that I viewed them. This is a wonderful book!

I have bought several of these books for friends and family. It is so uplifting and inspirational based on Christ and the bible. In this day there is a lot of information about "spirituality", so many people I know have unfortunately gone down the road of "spirituality" and "speaking to the universe" to acquire what they want or desire. This book explains how Christians can do the same with Jesus Christ. "All things are possible with Jesus Christ"...that is the message...not asking the universe to get what you want. I love this book and the messages it brings. Another book I recommend (because I saw the author) Why Jesus?: Rediscovering His Truth in an Age of Mass Marketed SpiritualityExcellent, can't wait until it is available! Same concepts as this book.

Joel Osteen is always so positive in his thinking. Everything he writes puts you in such an uplifting mood. I love to start the morning reading a few pages.
