Wood plus color!,

I just finished my first project from this book and really like the way the mosaic patterns combine scrolling with painting. I am a beginner and found the instructions very clear. At first I found sawing and sanding the tiny pieces (I used the original size pattern) tedious but when I put it all together I was rewarded with beautiful results. I'll be looking for more pattern books like this. I'm even inspired to try to make my own patterns for mosaics.

I usually build furniture in my shop but I decided to take a diversion and try some "artwork". I always wanted to do some intarsia works but I thought this might be a good start. Wow!! Frank Droege presents some great ideas and outstanding plans for colors and cutting. I made all three works on the cover as well as some more inside. They are now hanging in our home, grandchildren's rooms and at our lake home. I highly recommend this book by Droege.
