I was very excited about the Scrub Daddy when I saw its introduction on Shark Tank. A report of how the Scrub Daddy was doing on a folllow-up on Shark Tank some months later convinced me that this would be a very impressive product to add to my kitchen cleaning items.

Unfortunately, it has proven a very big disappointment. Because it has proven to be a big financial success (ove $13 million in sales in less than a year) and was backed by Laurie Grenier of QVC I felt I had to give it a really honest review. I've put a lot of thought into this review for such a low cost item (not like I'm reviewing a clothes dryer which cost between $300-$400 dollars) The Scrub Daddy can be as low as $3.99 at Bed, Bath and Beyond or $4.99 at my local Stop & Shop or even as much as $6.99 on Amazon unless you buy a multi pack of Scrub Daddys.

Never the less, the Scrub Daddy does not hold up well. I bought and used 2 of them. Each did a really good job cleaning my Farberware pans - even dried on food came off with ease, no scrath marks, and the trapped food particles washed out of the Scrub Daddy in seconds. But within several weeks each was disintegrating, becoing very soft and squishy, the holes to put the silverware through for scratchless cleaning becoming much bigger. The Scrub Daddy got bigger around and flatter and then just fell apart - in only 2 or 3 weeks.

I watched a video on my computer on the Scrub Daddy. It showed the Scrub Daddy cleaning a smooth top stove - which can take a lot of elbow greae. This was a real selling point for me since I have a smooth top stove. But as it turned out, the spills on my stove were impervious to the Scrub Daddy. That was really a huge disappointment. Another good idea I saw was to use the Scrub Daddy as an exfoliator.

I bought the pack of four after seeing it on Shark Tank. I love using it and it does a good job of cleaning dishes but they wear out quickly. Each one only last me about two weeks with daily use. I just think that for the price I paid that they should have lasted longer.

Sponge material cut-outs for the eyes and smile mouth weaken the sponge structurally. Tears rips occur at these weak (thin) points. Also moderate heat seems to further disintegrate the sponge. Promising but durability and product design fails.

Recently purchased the Scrub Daddy sponge after our dishwasher broke. Didn't even last 2 weeks with everyday use on glasses, plates and silverware.

I've been using these since just before Christmas. To those of you who say yours only lasted 3 weeks, or that they smelled...you must be doing something wrong. My first one lasted about 2 months, and I abused it terribly, cleaning every hard surface in my house with it. I found that as long as you rinse it thoroughly...like until it's clean...and make sure you give it a final rinse in cold water, it will last, and keep it's shape wonderfully. Mine never stank either...but I never left it dirty. Considering how soft it gets in really hot water, I would think it's a no brainer to NOT put it in the dishwasher. I loved the first one so much that I bought a multi-pack and gave them to friends and family as little token gifts. I haven't talked to anyone who doesn't love it. I now have a Scrub Daddy in the kitchen, and one in each bathroom, as well as one in my tack box. Treat it as mercilessly as you'd like...just keep it clean and make the last rinse a cold one, and you will enjoy yours for a long, UN-stinky, clean time too. Oh, and if you just can't stand the idea of not disinfecting it...be smart and just use a little anti-bacterial dish soap while you're rinsing it clean.

I bought 4 of these. Gave two to friends because I initially loved the product. I didn't get two weeks usage before it started to fall apart. Their statement that claims it last up to 2 or 3 months may be true if you don't use the product everyday. So..I wrote an email to their customer care center. Asked them for their feedback to my complaint. When you submit you get a little statement saying they will get back to you. Well, that was nearly a month ago so I wrote again. Still no feedback. Needless to say I won't purchase Scrub Daddy again and will pass this info along to anyone I know who is thinking about buying one. Not worth the money!

The Scrub Daddy fell apart after less than 3 weeks of light use washing dishes. I liked the product until it fell apart; but $6.64 for less than 3 weeks use is ridiculous!

I have a housekeeping business so I was excited to try this. It does nothing for soap scum. It washes dishes well if you keep it hot so it's malleable. I haven't found ANY uses for it in cold water. I like to conserve energy so having to heat it up in hot water every time I want to use it is annoying. Mostly I'm upset that my mom tried to clean her oven range with it and ended up scrubbing the skin on her own fingers off using HOT water & the eye holes (as instructed per their website). Would not recommend, would not buy again.
