A good time piece representing Crowley's attempt to reach a really mass audience. Entertaining and witty.

This review is from: Scrutinies of Simon Iff (Hardcover)
This shows an unusual humorous side to Crowley. This is a series of a few short detective stories centered around the Taoist mystic Simon Iff. I had wanted this for some time, as it was a continuation of Crowley's own Moonchild, which to this day remains my favorite novel. Basically, just like any other mass media type fictional story, the good guy will always win. Taoism is a religion that teaches physical immortality. I was recently hit by a car crossing the street, and I got up from the incident without a scratch on me, leaving me wonder if the physical immortality of Taoism, or was I killed, being reincarnated in the same tired society that I drew to despise with the rise of rap. This is a true story. Yes, I was hit by a car crossing the street and got up just seconds later completed unscathed without a scratch on me. If you follow this seriously, people will sometimes WANT to hit you with a car, and you will return either reincarnated or by being physically immortal.
