This sample kit is just the thing if you are just beginning, or wanting to try your hand at using polymer clay before investing in larger, more expensive sizes of clay. It is easy to work with, and perfect if you only need a "little" bit of a specific color. It's a nice variety of colors and will be enough to make a good number of projects if you are not needing large quantities of a specific color. It's also a good buy if you are planning on mixing colors, or needing a number of different colors for a particular project. It has a matte finish when baked, not "shiny" but you can gloss them later if needed. My only "issue" is that the color name and/or number is not labeled on the individual blocks, so if you are trying to add them to your other inventory, especially if you have other brands of clay, you will have to either label them yourself or keep them separate.

This was my first polymer clay purchase and Im very happy with it. I love using this clay! Alot of fun. And the price was good for all the colours you get in the pack.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas. This is a really good buy. You get a good amount and there is a nice variety.

We've ordered this clay twice, from two different sellers. The first time it was pure wonderful. My 4-year-old daughter would spend hours playing with it. When we were done with the whole box, we ordered this clay again (some time in June 2011), this time from a different seller (7GIFTS or something like that). I believe this second set is worse in quality: it's drier, harder, and crumblier. It takes forever to soften it so that my daughter can play with it, and in the end it's just not fun. This second set has been sitting practically unused for a couple of months already. Every time we try to play with it, it's just frustrating. I don't know if the clay is just old or if it's actually of worse quality. The bottom line is that you may need to be careful ordering this product and paying so much for something that can hardly be used even by adults.

My kids love the schulpey clay. Hours of creating unique things. The best part is that they are virtually unbreakable once baked.

Bought this a christmas gift, where is the outer box? no instructions, no sample ideas. package looks nothing like listing's photo. Disappointed. I bought this as a christmas gift. Had I known, I would have bought from another vendor. or at least get a book in addition to this. Have no idea as to quality of clay as we haven't used it yet. This rating is just for the packaging which is very misleading from the listing's photo/picture.

The clay was a bit hard, difficult to use and some colors were unusable. Perhaps the item was old or improperly stored.

I don't know if we just got an old batch of this stuff or what, but it's really hard to shape this into anything. I got this for my kids to have fun with and they were both excited, until we tried to make something. It's just these blocks that are too hard and crumbly to do much with. I gave it two stars because there are quite a few colors and if it had been fresh I'm guessing this would be fun. I think I'll try look online for ideas to soften it, if that's even possible.
