Great camera for the beginner, the macro feature offers brilliant sharpness for up-close photos. I have read some complaints about this camera in the past about blurry images, but there are several flash settings to choose from that remedy this problem. Using the macro, I have taken hundreds of photos of tiny invertebrates in the touch table at the public aquarium where I work, and they make beautiful prints as well as greeting cards that will go in our gift shop.
I am also impressed with the camera's sturdiness-I accidentally dropped the camera in its u/w housing (without the o-ring in place) in one of the touch tanks, snatched it out and dried it in time-no problems.
