This tea is wonderful!, July 6, 2011
This review is from: Sea Dyke - TieKuanYin Oolong (Wu Long) Loose Tea Value Tin - (1.1 Lb) (Misc.)
This tea has become the main tea I drink. It is easy to brew and it tastes great. Also, I really like the weight loss effect that this tea has on your body; it just makes your body work like it did when you were younger. The research I have found says that it works by increasing your metabolism, and NOT by decreasing the water in your body or subjecting it to high levels of caffein like some other products do. Neither of these two ways of losing weight is good on your body nor will it be a permanet weight-loss solution. This tea just makes your body work more effeciently. I hope Amazon never stops selling it, as to buy it directly from China would take a long time to receive it, but ordering through Amazon your order arrives in an efficient time frame. Thank you for carrying such a special tea Amazon!

More Than Just A Diet Tea, June 26, 2010
This review is from: Sea Dyke - TieKuanYin Oolong (Wu Long) Loose Tea Value Tin - (1.1 Lb) (Misc.)
There are health benefits other than weight loss. However, the main reason I drink it is the flavor. I'm not much of a tea connoisseur(can't really describe the flavor other than it's mild and flowery but the way you brew it can change the flavor) but I can say that drinking this tea has ruined me on any of those instant teas I used to drink. I tried drinking some instant tea recently and couldn't stand it even though I used to have no problem with it.
Anyone interested in the health benefits and side effects can take a look at this article. I found it rather informative. Edit: Apparently, I can't link articles directly. I'd recommend Googling the benefits and side effects. Some articles are more informative than others, you'll just have to keep digging, if you want to know more. Here's a quick run down of the benefits listed on the site I tried to link:
Act as antioxidants.
Promote weight loss.
Promote heart health.
Treat skin disorders.
Complement diabetes treatment.
Reduce high blood pressure.
Inhibit bacteria. Prevent tooth decay.
The main side effects:
Caffeine and tannin can cause stomach upset by stimulating the production of gastric acid.
Tea reduces the absorption of thiamine, or vitamin B.
Tea contains tannin and caffeine that may cause allergy to some people. If you are hypersensitive to caffeine or tannin, avoid drinking tea.
Tea can interact with certain medications.
It even has a quote directly related to this brand of tea that is as follows: "A breakthrough discovery, this organic certified oolong tea is a must-try that has astounded amateurs and connoisseurs during its Launch.
During 1996 to 1999, a Japanese team traveled to China to select an oolong tea farm for import into Japan's health conscious society.
Guess what they discovered after 3 long years of chemical testings?
Iron Goddess King Tea - Best of Fragrant Oolong"
As a bit of additional info, I like to drink Aloe Vera juice to counteract the problems caffeine and tannin can cause. As much as I'd love to go on about how amazing Aloe Vera is as both a juice and a gel, I'll just say that anyone that is even slightly interested in powerful natural remedies should do some serious research on it. The gel can treat anything from open wounds to radiation burns. The juice can treat anything from your teeth and gums down through your entire digestive tract. It's even helps allergies and diabetes but I'm getting way off topic now, so I'll just say to definitely do your own research.
